Job Purpose: The Production Supervisor assists the Production Manager with schedule prioritization, safety compliance, and quality control.

Essential Functions include the following:

  1. Provides production employees with person protective equipment and tools.
  2. Maintains production schedule and responds to production and administration issues.
  3. Maintains made to manage, ensures safety procedures are followed by production employees, provides equipment maintenance, answer questions and solve problems.
  4. Supervises employees to ensure safety and productivity.
  5. Takes inventory, orders materials, assists inventory with inventory control issues, maintains records of employee purchases, performs quality control, and opens and closes the shop.
  6. Performs QC functions by inspecting manufactured items.
  7. Ensure all containers containing hazardous materials are labeled, kept covered when not actively in use, and that assigned subordinates do the same.
  8. Comply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods and ensure subordinates do the same.
  9. Additional hazardous waste activities may include, with further training, operating the solvent reclaimer, conducting weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, reviewing/signing waste disposal manifests, moving hazardous waste containers to storage area, cleanup of minor chemical/hazardous waste spills, and supervision of those tasked with those functions.
  10. Attends training such as safety meetings and applicable seminars/training.
  11. Conducts interviews, orientation, and employee training.
  12. May assist in loading/unloading of trucks and operates a forklift.
  13. Communicates with all necessary departments and Supervisor when necessary.
  14. Completes all required paperwork including the review/changes of daily labor reports.
  15. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Secures tools, materials, and equipment at end of day.
  16. Performs additional duties as needed.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent and a technical college or college degree preferred.
  2. Fiberglass experience and good problem-solving and organization skills.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers, and management.
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, procedure manuals, and job instructions.
  5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
  6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  7. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and multi-task effectively.
  8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  9. Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
  10. Ability to use department equipment.
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for men 30 pounds for women. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  2. The work environment is usually an indoor setting with infrequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high. This position requires infrequent travel, which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.
  3. Must abide by PPE requirements.
