Description
At National Trade Supply, the Production Supervisor oversees daily operations across our two product lines — HVAC air filtration and refrigerator water filtration. You will drive daily output against the production schedule, manage labor productivity and cost performance, and maintain a safe working environment — all while serving as a key member of the manufacturing leadership team reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who has a proven track record in high-volume manufacturing, is comfortable holding teams accountable, and knows how to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks before they become real problems. You lead from the floor, not from a desk.
At National Trade Supply, we operate with a shared set of core values that guide how we work and grow together: Grit, Bias for Action, Critical Thinking, Self-Awareness, and Operational Excellence. These principles shape our culture, influence our decisions, and define what it means to succeed on our team.
Production & Schedule Management
- Supervise daily production activities across assigned assembly lines, holding output to the production schedule and gemba board hourly targets.
- Partner with the Plant Manager and Procurement & Inventory Coordinator to align production output with inventory forecasts and fulfillment demand.
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate daily and weekly output, downtime, and labor performance to the Plant Manager.
- Support cross-training and flex-headcount initiatives across the air filter and water filter production lines to keep capacity aligned with demand.
Safety & Compliance
- Own shop-floor safety by conducting routine safety walks, enforcing PPE and procedural compliance, and keeping the work environment free of hazards.
- Lead incident investigations promptly and close out all corrective actions completely.
- Uphold a zero-tolerance standard for unsafe conditions, OSHA violations, and regulatory non-compliance.
Labor Productivity & Cost Management
- Monitor cycle times, line efficiency, and staffing allocation daily to meet cost-per-unit improvement targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity and act on them — don't wait to be asked.
- Drive toward a minimum 7% year-over-year reduction in labor cost per unit.
People Leadership & Accountability
- Lead, manage, and hold Team Leads accountable for their output, attendance, and conduct.
- Manage performance and disciplinary matters in line with company policy, directly and without delay.
- Coach Team Leads to develop their skills and build a stronger, more capable floor team.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure quality standards are met on every line, every shift.
- Coordinate with quality and maintenance resources to resolve equipment or process issues that affect output.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that close information flow gaps and eliminate production bottlenecks.
The Outcome We Are Seeking
We want a Production Supervisor who makes the floor run better — not just on a good day, but consistently. This means the schedule gets hit, the team is accountable, costs trend down, and nobody gets hurt.
Success in this role looks like a manufacturing operation that is predictable, efficient, and continuously improving. Within the first year, we expect this person to have built credibility on the floor, tightened the connection between production output and S&OP targets, and established clear ownership across their team leads.
- Zero major safety incidents, serious injuries, OSHA violations, or regulatory-triggered findings in any rolling 12-month period.
- Production unit output consistently aligned with the Sales & Operations Plan (S&OP).
- Labor cost per unit improved by at least 7% year over year.
- Accurate, on-time daily and weekly reporting to the Plant Manager with no gaps.
Why Choose Us?
- Competitive salary and benefits designed to support your well-being.

- Direct access to leadership and decision-makers — your ideas won't get lost in layers of bureaucracy.
- A role where your work will make a real, measurable impact — improving the online shopping experience for customers and driving meaningful growth for the business.

Interview Process
We take hiring seriously because every person we add must have a meaningful impact on our culture, our work, and our team. As a small and growing company, we are intentional about who we bring on board, and we don't compromise on that standard for the sake of speed.
- Application Review — We review every application and reach out if there's a strong match.
- Recruiter / HR Screen — A 30-minute introductory call to discuss your background, experience, and what you're looking for.
- Hiring Manager Interview — A deeper conversation focused on your supervisory experience, safety philosophy, and approach to leading a production floor.
- Senior Leadership Interview — A final conversation with National Trade Supply senior leadership to discuss fit, expectations, and next steps.
As part of our hiring process, we ask candidates to complete Predictive Index (PI) behavioral and cognitive assessments. These tools help us better understand your natural work style, communication preferences, and problem-solving approaches. They're not used to "pass" or "fail" candidates — rather, they give us a more complete picture of how you might fit within the team and where you can thrive. We believe great hiring is about more than just skills; it's about setting people up for success from day one.
Throughout the process, you'll meet with several people from across the organization — including senior leadership, members of the relevant department, and internal stakeholders who will be key partners in this role. We believe that great hiring is a two-way street, and our process is designed to give you a real feel for who we are and how we work.
We understand that this level of engagement won't be the right fit for everyone, and that's okay. Candidates who aren't comfortable with any part of the process may find a better fit elsewhere, and we genuinely wish them the best. For those who are excited to engage fully, we're just as excited to get to know you.
