Production Supervisor — Afternoon Shift

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

    Experience

    • 5+ years in manufacturing
    • 2+ years directly supervising hourly teams
    • Dietary supplement or regulated manufacturing experience is a strong plus
    • Education

      • Bachelor's degree preferred
      • Associate's degree in a technical or management field with supervisory experience also considered
      • High school diploma may be accepted with additional relevant experience
      • Skills

        • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver against production goals
        • Strong working knowledge of GMPs, EHS regulations, and safety best practices
        • Solid grasp of budgeting, cost control, and production economics
        • Track record of leading continuous improvement — Lean, Six Sigma, or similar a plus
        • Excellent written and verbal communication
        • The judgment to hold people accountable while keeping the team engaged

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Production Operations: Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet throughput, capacity, and scheduling targets in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Supervise and Optimize the Workforce: Assign tasks, monitor performance, and adjust resources so production deadlines are met on time and to specification.
  • Manage Operational Adjustments: Revise production plans in response to changes in shipment schedules, inventory levels, and production requirements.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality Compliance: Foster a culture of safety, ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, and partner with the Quality Department to confirm products meet standards.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce waste, optimize efficiency, and enhance product quality.
  • Oversee Staffing and Scheduling: Manage staffing levels, shift scheduling, and overtime distribution to ensure adequate coverage for production needs.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance: Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Manage Budget and Costs: Monitor departmental spending for compliance with budget targets, and investigate and reconcile monthly production cost variances.
  • Develop the Team: Train, mentor, and develop production staff; set clear performance expectations and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
