The Senior Manager, Production Planning is a senior leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end production planning, capacity alignment, and supply readiness to support customer commitments, revenue growth, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, NPI, and Global Planning teams to translate S&OP / IBP demand into executable and reliable production plans while balancing service, cost, and inventory objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Production Planning
Lead production planning strategy aligned with business demand, capacity constraints, and growth objectives.
Translate S&OP / IBP outputs into executable master production plans with clear supply commitments.
Balance customer demand, capacity, inventory targets, and cost efficiency to support business priorities.
Demand, Capacity & Resource Management
Own capacity planning across people, equipment, and materials to support short- and mid-term demand.
Proactively identify capacity gaps, bottlenecks, and material constraints, and drive mitigation plans.
Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering on capacity expansion, ramp-up, and productivity initiatives.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Establish and maintain robust planning processes, governance, and KPIs, including OTD, plan adherence, forecast accuracy, and inventory turns.
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights, system optimization, and best practices.
Lead enhancements in ERP / MRP / planning tools to improve planning accuracy and agility.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
Serve as a key interface between Thailand operations and global planning organizations.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to align inventory strategy, cost, and working capital.
Provide clear, concise senior-management-level communication on planning performance, risks, and trade-offs.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the Production Planning team, building strong technical capability and succession.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans for team members.
Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) Leadership
Demonstrate strong visible leadership and commitment to EHS standards in alignment with site and corporate policies.
Promote and sustain a Zero Accident Culture within planning operations.
Review EHS performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
12+ years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Operations within a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience at Senior Manager level.
Strong background in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing (electronics, photonics, semiconductor, or similar industries).
Technical & Leadership Skills
Deep knowledge of S&OP / IBP, capacity planning, and MRP / ERP systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Experience working effectively in a global, matrix organization.
Fluent English communication (written and spoken).
