The Production Planning Assistant provides critical administrative and operational support to the Production Planning team to help ensure manufacturing schedules are executed efficiently and accurately. This role is responsible for maintaining production data, coordinating planning activities, supporting ERP transactions, and facilitating communication across Planning, Production, Materials, and Manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Assist with preparing, maintaining, and updating daily and weekly production schedules. 
  • Support Production Planners by organizing planning data, reports, and production documentation. 
  • Maintain accurate production records, planning reports, and scheduling information. 
  • Create, update, and maintain work orders within the ERP system (NetSuite preferred). 
  • Monitor planning data for accuracy and communicate discrepancies to the Planning team. 
  • Coordinate information flow between Planning, Production, Materials, Purchasing, Inventory, and other cross-functional teams. 
  • Assist in tracking production priorities, schedule changes, and manufacturing progress. 
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets to support production planning and operational decision-making. 
  • Provide administrative support for planning meetings and production reviews. 
  • Help identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting, and data accuracy. 
  • Support inventory and material planning activities as assigned. 
  • Perform other planning and operations support duties as needed. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, operations, or administrative support. 
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. 

Preferred

  • Associate degree or coursework in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations Management. 
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred). 
  • Exposure to manufacturing scheduling, inventory management, purchasing, or production control. 
  • Experience creating reports and analyzing production or inventory data.
