Position Summary:

This is a full-time on-site role located in Greater Noida for Production Worker – M.H Grinder Man at Coperion. 

The Grinderman is responsible for operating hand-held grinding equipment to remove weld defects and surface imperfections from metal surfaces. The primary goal is to prepare materials to meet specified finish and setup requirements for subsequent fabrication, ensuring quality standards and dimensional accuracy are maintained.

Work You’ll Do:

Grinding and Finishing

•              Operate hand-held grinding tools (e.g., angle grinders, straight grinders, flexible grinders, polishing machines, etc.).

•              Perform initial grinding to remove significant weld defects, cutting defects, and prepare V-grooves.

•              Execute finishing steps using various grit abrasives to achieve the specified surface finish and texture as required.

2. Quality Control & Inspection

•              Inspect plates for dimensional accuracy and surface quality before, during, and after grinding using tools such as micrometers, calipers, surface roughness gauges, and V-preparation gauges.

•              Identify and correct imperfections such as pitting, uneven finishes, and discolorations.

•              Ensure all finished work meets required industry standards and internal quality checks.

3. Equipment Maintenance & Safety

•              Perform routine checks of grinding equipment and replace abrasives, discs, and wheels as required.

•              Maintain a clean and organized work area, strictly adhering to safety protocols.

•              Wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, gloves, etc.) to minimize dust exposure and hazards.

•              Troubleshoot basic equipment issues.

4. Material Handling

•              Safely handle and position heavy plates using overhead cranes or other approved lifting equipment.

Team:

This role will be part of the Shop Floor/Fabrication team.

Required Qualifications

Experience

•              Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience operating grinding, sanding, and polishing equipment, preferably in metal   fabrication.

•              Specific experience working with various steel grades (e.g., SS316, SS304) and achieving diverse surface finishes is highly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

•              Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and finish specifications.

•              Strong knowledge of abrasive types, grits, and their appropriate applications to achieve specific surface finishes.

•              Thorough understanding of safety procedures related to grinding and material handling.

Physical Requirements

•              Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects within safety guidelines.

•              Capable of performing physically demanding tasks.

•              Good hand-eye coordination for precise grinding.
