As a Senior Production Monitoring & Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing production performance across oil and gas assets using real-time surveillance platforms such as Lucipa™, CygNet, PI System, OFM, Production Link, and similar technologies. You will work closely with production, reservoir, operations, and asset management teams to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and support production performance improvement initiatives.
As a Senior Production Monitoring & Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Promoting excellence in Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), Quality, and compliance with applicable company policies and customer requirements.
- Monitoring real-time production data, well performance, and facility operations through digital surveillance platforms.
- Identifying production anomalies, performance degradation, production losses, and operational risks through continuous asset surveillance.
- Conducting well diagnostics, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting activities to support operational decision-making.
- Generating recommendations to improve production efficiency, increase asset uptime, and minimize deferred production.
- Supporting optimization of artificial lift systems, production systems, and surface facilities.
- Developing and maintaining production dashboards, KPI tracking tools, and performance reporting systems.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Production Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Management.
- Supporting production assurance and integrated asset management activities.
- Leveraging digital technologies, analytics, and engineering workflows to improve operational performance.
- Participating in customer meetings, technical reviews, and performance improvement workshops.
- Contributing to consulting studies, production optimization projects, and asset performance evaluations for clients across Mexico and Latin America.
- Supporting business development initiatives through technical expertise and customer engagement.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in production operations, production engineering, asset surveillance, or production optimization. (2 out of 3)
- Demonstrate experience working with production monitoring platforms such as Lucipa™, PI System, CygNet, OFM, Avocet, or equivalent digital oilfield technologies.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of production systems, artificial lift, well performance analysis, and production assurance principles.
- Be experienced in interpreting operational data and transforming insights into actionable recommendations.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Power BI, and production engineering software.
- Experience with PEMEX assets and/or private operators onshore in South Mexico will be considered a strong advantage.
- Experience in consulting environments and client-facing technical roles is desirable.
