This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Key Accountabilities: As a Production Manager, you'll provide leadership, direction, and support to production teams while playing a key role on the shop floor, driving operational excellence and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all aspects of manufacturing and assembly operations.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and develop production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Oversee the assembly of complex aerospace structures and sub-assemblies utilizing metallic and non-metallic materials
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations
- Manage installation and integration of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer teams to resolve issues and improve performance
- Monitor production schedules and resource utilization to ensure customer commitments are met
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of leadership or management experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Flexibility to support alternative schedules or shifts as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business-related field
- Experience leading projects while managing schedules, budgets, and operational objectives
- Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working within a unionized manufacturing environment and managing collective bargaining agreements
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $71,150 - $109,100
