This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
As a Production Manager, you'll play a key leadership role on the shop floor, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety in all aspects of assembly operations. You'll:
- Lead teams in assembling sub-assemblies and structural units using both metallic and nonmetallic materials, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system installations, utilizing a range of fasteners and bonding methods.
- Ensure product integrity through rigorous testing using mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and external customers to meet specifications, drive continuous improvement, and maintain operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role
- Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate with multiple departments (Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.)
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects on time and within budget, with strong knowledge of project management, cost tracking, and NPI processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP, with experience navigating enterprise systems
- Experienced in union environments, including managing collective bargaining agreements, and flexible to work any shift or alternative schedule as needed
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $71,150 - $109,100
