ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety/Workplace Organization (15%)
- Ensure all safety and health standards are followed to keep the organization accident-free
- Conduct monthly safety and workplace organization 5S compliance audits
- Report all accidents and/or near misses immediately, assisting in root cause and preventative measures with leadership team
- Drive workplace organization amongst team members, keep floor free of hazards
- Active member of the Safety Committee
Manufacturing Excellence (35%)
- Prepares the production floor for daily production, executes machine changeovers and setups, ensures proper raw materials at point of use, assists in resource assignments, and operation of forklift as required.
- Monitor team members workmanship to ensure conformity to defined manufacturing procedures and quality specifications
- Ensure non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated
- Troubleshoot machinery with machine operators, maintenance, and Production Manager to minimize production downtime
- Execute and perform production tasks as required to meet production targets which include but is not limited to; stapling, running machines, material handling, constructing displays, conducting cycle counts, labelling
- Identify production efficiency impacts and opportunities across key manufacturing processes: mixing, bagging, stapling, overwrap, and carton processes. Assist Production Manager in continuous improvement activities
- Monitor, document, and report daily production output
- Participate in daily shortage meetings to identify process, resource, and material bottlenecks to meet production targets. Provide alternate productions plans as needed.
Team Leadership (50%)
- Regularly communicate with the production staff and leadership team regarding team performance to targets, safety bulletins, and potential manufacturing impacts
- Assist the Production Manager with resource planning to efficiently meet the production schedule
- Providing team members with clear directions and tasks throughout the scheduled shift to ensure production goals are achieved, including training new hires
- Provide product expertise and process training to existing and new team members
- Provide performance feedback on team members to Production Supervisor
- Support daily kickoff meeting as required
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all employees, encouraging and motivating team members to one common goal

- Primarily works in a manufacturing environment.
- Occasionally you may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, cleaning solvents, lubricants, and noise if a walk through the manufacturing and warehouse environments is required.
- Bilingual Spanish / English required due to our diverse culture.
