Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Production/Inventory Coordinator to support the SLS Program in New Orleans, LA!
The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions. Boeing is the prime contractor for design, development, test and production of the massive core stage and avionics development. This Experienced Production Coordinator position is with the Boeing Exploration Launch Systems and will support production of the NASA SLS and is based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility
Position Responsibilities:
- Processes and moves production and other materials into and out of storage, production and other locations to support complex production and product support activities, flight test, etc
- Monitors and analyzes work in process
- Updates status of parts and materials using automated systems
- Identifies and reports problems and recommendations to ensure parts availability
- Analyzes problems and resolves or reconciles discrepancies with parts and materials to maintain inventory and system accuracy
- Coordinates with various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete production activities to avoid schedule delays
- Works under limited supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- More than 3 years of experience in the materials planning or inventory control process role in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8-hour shift
- Ability to walk, stand, climb and descend stairs, bend and lift items, package materials and unload materials from containers frequently throughout the shift
- 1 year or more experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 1 year or more experience working in a computer-based inventory management system or warehouse management system
- Experience working on NASA programs
- Experience in supply chain concepts and best practices
