This role will focus on ensuring quality and staying in specs of encapsulation manufacturing process to ensure all products meet established quality, safety, and performance specifications. This position plays a key role in ensuring product integrity, maximizing operational efficiency, minimizing waste, and maintaining compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $27.00/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM, with occasional overtime
Responsibilities:
- Weigh and measure raw materials and chemicals according to batch formulas.
- Load ingredients into mixing tanks, blenders, reactors, or other processing equipment.
- Operate mixers, agitators, pumps, valves, scales, and related equipment.
- Follow SOPs, batch records, work instructions, and production schedules.
- Monitor temperature, pressure, mixing time, viscosity, and other process conditions.
- Add ingredients in the correct sequence and at the specified rates.
- Make and label samples for quality-control testing.
- Record material quantities, lot numbers, equipment settings, and production information.
- Clean and sanitize equipment between batches to prevent cross-contamination.
- Identify equipment problems such as leaks, unusual noises, improper mixing, or abnormal readings.
- Perform basic equipment adjustments and troubleshooting within the employee's authorization.
- Handle chemicals using required PPE and safety procedures.
- Follow hazardous-material, spill-response, lockout/tagout, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Move or stage raw materials, sometimes using pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple production batches simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams) for documentation and recordkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with chemicals, batching processes, or manufacturing operations preferred.
- Comfortable working on ladders, platforms, and at elevated heights when required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and monitor manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow detailed processes, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
