The Job

In close partnership with the GM, CNN+, this role will help define the strategic direction of CNN's direct-to-consumer product and will own the product roadmap for the core areas of CNN+'s product experience. Passionate about consumers and building a best-in-class product experience, this position will drive the product vision for CNN+ across all functional execution areas.

As the leader of the CNN+ Product experience, this role will oversee the development and crafting of how users discover content, engage with features, how the product drives retention, the capabilities needed for the experience, and be accountable for the cohesion of that experience across platforms including the web, apps, connected TVs, third-party platforms, etc.

The Daily

  • Oversee the global development of all CNN+ product strategy including growth, experience, international product, and CNN+ specific capabilities.
  • Accountable for building, owning and executing against the product roadmap, including defining and articulating level of effort to inform timelines and prioritization effectively.
  • Own the ongoing data-driven optimization of product/market fit and lead development of strategies that drive conversion, engagement, activation and retention within the CNN+ product.
  • Be the ongoing advocate for customers on what problems the product is solving and how the vision for the product translates into an experience.
  • Help drive functional excellence in partnership with other product leaders at CNN.
  • Responsible for partnering with content teams to help shape what the content experience is like in the product, including defining rights parameters and packaging needs.
  • Singular product voice on behalf of CNN+ who effectively partners with Marketing and other cross-functional teams to bring product capabilities to market.
  • Partner closely with Technology, Data, Design, CNN Core and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment on OKR setting, vision, prioritization, and timelines
  • Consistently and clearly communicate to the organization on an ongoing basis the product capabilities, functionalities, and existing features so there is tight alignment across all cross-functional teams on what the users see and how they see it.
  • Effectively lead and inspire an existing team of talented and passionate product managers.

The Essentials

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in product management and product development.
    • 8 - 10 years in a leadership or management role, overseeing teams of product managers.
    • Previous exposure or significant stakeholdership in the global/international execution of product experiences a plus.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team of product managers toward a shared vision and goal in a product-led environment.
  • Deep understanding of the technical capabilities necessary to achieve roadmap goals and the implications for how certain elements would potentially effect the ultimate product experience.
  • Experience in agile development modules and environments.
  • Demonstrated ability in articulating product strategies and overseeing the translation of those strategic goals into cohesive consumer product experiences.
  • Comfortable with fast-paced environments with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Possesses excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator who appreciates the complexities of an organization with interdependent stakeholders with varying levels of previous exposure to product-led organizations.
