Job Description:
Responsible for maximizing the value for a product. Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment. Possess a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain. With some guidance, creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems. Creates and prioritizes work for one team. Learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams. With some guidance, creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints. Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements. Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business. Individual contributor.

A Product Owner / Business Analyst for the Global Trade Finance technical team. The goal for that person is to act as the Product Owner for the Trade Finance applications and to work within the existing Agile team structure and methodology. The person will be:
  • Responsible for definition and management of the requirements for Initiative and BAU work within an Agile framework
  • Working closely with the Product Manager(s) and other business partners to define strategies for technical solutions, identify and document requirements, and continually prioritize the team's backlog to meet tight deadlines
  • Working closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional design/solutions are translated accurately into technical solutions, test plans and scripts that serve customer needs
  • Collaborating with multiple teams to drive to common understanding of functionality and requirements, to maintain focus on the delivery, and ensure meeting the business goals
  • Serve as the Product Owner for the application functional area and liaison between business partners and the technical teams

The candidate must be able to understand the business drives and goals, to think strategically and analytically to comprehend the big picture while maintain focus on the individual requirements to drive success. Must maintain open communication channels, to know when to escalate, to ask the right questions, to communicate with impact and to drive decisions across multiple teams and partners.
Required Skills:
  • Experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and business acumen
  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent role (e.g., business testing function, business operations) in working with product partners and application development teams
  • Experience working closely with a Product Manager and other business partners to define strategies for technical solutions
  • Ability to identify and document requirements
  • Proven experience continually prioritizing the team's backlog to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent Relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional design/solutions are translated accurately into technical solutions, test plans and scripts that serve customer needs
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams to drive to common understanding of functionality and requirements, to maintain focus on the delivery, and ensure meeting the business goals
  • Proven ability to translate business plans/policies into specific goals, tactics, requirements and actionable plans
  • Established ability to meet aggressive deadlines while managing multiple responsibilities and competing priorities
  • Able to think on the spot and maintain integrity and composure under pressure
  • High level Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance knowledge and experience

Desired Skills:
  • Product Owner/Product Management SAFe Agile Certifications
  • Extensive Trade Finance and Supply Chain knowledge and experience
  • Sound Agile and Jira experience
  • Ability to lead an Agile team as needed
  • Knowledge of CashPro Trade, TradeLine, GBS SDS applications
