FedNowSM
The Federal Reserve is developing a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality for instant payments, called the FedNow service. This service will help enable financial institutions provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of fast-paced, mission-critical Federal Reserve initiative that will be transformative to the payments landscape in the United States.
A requirement of this position is that the employee must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation from the Bank's vaccination policy; individuals who are unable to be vaccinated due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may request an accommodation from the Bank.
Position Contributions-
The product management analyst is responsible for supporting the end-to-end product management lifecycle for the FedNow service and will be a subject matter expert on features and functionality of the service. The product analyst will contribute to analysis, modeling, documentation, requirements management, project coordination, communications, problem solving, and decision-making for various product and technology initiatives. The product analyst will also work closely with various teams, including the project management office, FedNow industry relations, FedNow technology, FedNow operations, the Customer Relations and Support Office, and National IT, to ensure project aspects are coordinated across critical stakeholder groups.
What will be expected of you-

  • Develop, analyze, document, trace, and maintain detailed functional and non-functional requirements and use cases/scenarios
  • Become a subject matter expert on the requirements and functionality of the FedNow system and educate internal and external users
  • Conduct quantitative and/or qualitive analysis, which may include identifying trends, monitoring data, preparing reports and/or visualizations, providing recommendations, and presenting findings to help FedNow management and staff make decisions quickly and efficiently
  • Provide various project management support, such as creating project plans, creating and tracking action items, documenting project updates, identifying risks, managing project meetings, and coordinating and communicating with stakeholder groups
  • Support product owners and product managers working with agile development teams
  • Support internal/external communication initiatives
  • Perform other duties, as assigned


Expertise you will bring-

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1-2 years analytics experience
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to synthesize complex information
  • Strong organization skills, including the ability to learn domain knowledge, quickly understand scope and requirements, and tactically coordinate and execute projects to move initiatives forward
  • Ability to effectively work remotely and across teams in a collaborative, supportive manner

  • Banking and/or payments experience
  • Experience working with agile development teams, a tech start-up, or other innovative technology environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to quickly gather, analyze and synthesize complex information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and compelling manner and tailor communications for different audiences
  • Detail-oriented, capable self-starter with the ability to explore innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize assignments
  • Strong interest in continually building knowledge and skills needed to improve work performance; takes the initiative to share knowledge and technical skills with others
  • Values diversity of thought, background, and experiences, and Builds appropriate and effective relationships
  • Employs strong project management skills, including organization, planning, and execution with the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously and under tight deadlines while providing high quality products
