This is a critical role within Optum's product management organization, with purview and responsibilities covering product priorities in the UHC member digital communication channel and serving E&I and M&R. You will have overall accountability and responsibility for the product strategy and execution as well as the outcomes it produces. In this role, you will work with internal stakeholders, including product managers, experience and designers and engineers. You'll collaborate with internal leaders and UHC business leaders.
As product director you will be responsible to build and maintain the team's success from a cultural standpoint. You will be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with your UHC business partners to improve communications, collaboration, and coordination to realize UHC business goals.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive the product roadmap and accountable for business outcomes
  • Lead a team of product managers as well as mentor product managers within the organization
  • Build collaborative relationship with UHC business partners including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Product, Clinical Services, Shared Services
  • Define the vision, goals and benefits and then track KPI's to measure success/outcome
  • Develop and execute on the product strategy and roadmap
  • Work closely with the leads/peers across Optum analytics product strategy, product development, product operations, and drive go-to-market priorities
  • Engage and collaborate with project sponsors to jointly define emerging projects and shepherd them through the Digital development process
  • Work with stakeholders to build a process to identify new product features that will impact digital with the goal of capturing requirements for digital products
  • Work closely with experience design, operations, marketing, and delivery partners to ensure effective "team-of-teams" execution
  • Represent Optum Digital for internal partner or external client presentations as needed
  • Work with BAs and PMs to manage all commitments made through requirements, planning, and delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience working in the digital space
  • 2+ years of demonstrated portfolio of user-centric digital experiences with proven, positive impacts to engagement and KPIs
  • Experience in digital product management (iPerceptions/ForeSee + years)
  • Experience working with clients (managing expectations, managing delivery dates)
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams comprising product managers, project managers, marketers, and engineering
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.   • Sales or product marketing experience for commercial segments in health insurance
  • Experience building partnership and influencing at an executive level
  • Knowledge of and experience in the US healthcare markets
  • Knowledge of commercial customers and customer needs in the segments
  • Deep understanding of market trends and developments in commercial segments (Individual, Small Group, and Large Group)
  • Solid understanding of market-leading practices, competitive intelligence, and cutting-edge innovation in the market
