Job Description Role Context: JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is a leading global financial services firm with assets of $2 trillion and operations in more than 60 countries. The Chief Data Office (CDO) has a mandate set and actively supported at the JPM board level to transform data management towards demonstrable shareholder value. Unified Data Catalog & Controls (UDCC) is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO). One of its primary roles is to deliver a broad set of data management capabilities supporting the Chief Data Office. Within this remit, UDCC supports the governance, capture, decisioning and monitoring of data use of any internal or external JPMC data such as transactions and business activities.
Role Description Summary:
Senior Product Analyst for the firm's toolset to catalog, analyze and monitor data use of JPMC data internal or external to the firm. Supporting the Senior Product Owner (PO) with stakeholder management, SME engagement and requirement gathering, design and overall responsibility for the implementation of the toolset while partnering with Software Engineering & Business teams to deliver world class solutions.
Role Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Product Analyst will ultimately be responsible for the collection and detailed interpretation of the data use requirements, that they will then use to coordinate and oversee the design and build of an outstanding technical product and solution within our UDCC toolset together with our Engineering & Technology teams
  • The Senior Product Analyst will support the Senior Product Owner to coordinate, own and manage the sequencing and prioritisation of delivery in partnership with the business, operations, and technology stakeholders . Create business requirements, functional design specifications, test cases, mockups and project plans for future releases.
  • Partner closely with Information Architects, Data Architects, Engineering & Technology teams to deliver a robust and strategic approach to the business priorities
  • Lead the creation and syndication of relevant data use requirement/solution documentation with stakeholders and users within the firm.
  • Partner with other Product Owners, Product Analysts and User Experience/Research experts to develop a joined-up suite of tools to deliver against partnering Data Controls, Data Risks & Data Governance programs
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) testing in support of our technology team. Partner with operations team in creating test scripts and support the execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Support the operations teams in managing BAU processes and in developing training content.
  • Provide project updates, raise relevant risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies at various forums and develop relevant material for the same
  • The Senior Product Analyst should become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on their toolset.
  • Lead detailed sessions with various stakeholders to effectively review and refine the operating model and apply lessons learned where applicable.


Role Qualifications:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative or business field, or at least equivalent relevant work experience
  • Great communication skills, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand problem statement to translate key information into a refined and useful set of requirements by coordinating & partnering with SMEs (from business, operations, and technology groups); and finally anticipate, assess, determine and propose solution approaches to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst for a team of Data Engineers/Scientists and Business Intelligence developers delivering actionable insights via Data products with working knowledge in User Experience (UX) practices and designing intuitive User Interfaces (UI).
  • Strong understanding, flexible mindset, and proven delivery of working with global teams across engineering, architecture, business, operations etc. functions in agile software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology in a high-pressure & time bound delivery-oriented work environment.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts such as APIs, ETL pipelines, data warehouse infrastructure, public cloud and on premises data storage platforms.
  • Demonstrable Knowledge and proven track record in supporting the delivery of data governance, change management and controls projects preferably in a banking or financial services organization.
  • Strong use of Jira/Confluence and Microsoft Office software applications to manage requirements and to deliver presentations and professional supporting material to senior stakeholders.
  • Continuously review usage, performance etc. metrics and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve the product in line with product strategy, vision & roadmap
  • A hard-working ethos and strong sense of self-motivation to own and deliver against objectives.
  • Strong relationship building skills, demonstrated consultative approach, influencing skills with extreme attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • A knowledge of Data Use and a good understanding of the structure of LOB's and their use of data across JPMC would not be necessary, but advantageous
