Overview
We seek a specialist who combines marketing insight with UX expertise to ensure our graphical user interface is intuitive and requirements are R&D-ready. You will transform customer feedback into actionable design requirements, validate usability, and shape the interface roadmap in close collaboration with R&D and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· Gather and analyze customer input through interviews, surveys, and internal collaboration to identify usability pain points and UX/UI needs.
· Define and document UX/UI requirements as clear, actionable, and testable specifications, supported by annotated wireframes, prototypes, and acceptance criteria.
· Maintain ease of use and consistency by advocating intuitive design principles and ensuring consistency across all user touchpoints.
· Develop and prioritize the GUI roadmap in collaboration with product management, aligning improvements with business goals.
· Monitor market trends and benchmark competitors to keep our interface innovative and competitive.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, R&D, and product teams to integrate UX strategies and maintain alignment throughout development.
· Prepare clear documentation of requirements, guidelines, and best practices for internal teams
· Own the requirements definition process for new and evolving GUIs, including drafting MRDs/FMRDs with SMART criteria.
· Validate feasibility with R&D to ensure requirements are implementable and aligned with technical constraints.
· Support alpha and beta testing phases, capture structured feedback, and communicate findings for continuous improvement.
Required:
· 3+ years experience in translating customer needs into R&D-ready requirement documents and developing prototypes as either UX designer, software product manager or similar (including research, design, testing, and handoff to R&D)
· Experience in the motion control, industrial automation or high-tech equipment field.
· Proficiency with design tools and methods (wireframing, prototyping).
· Ability to balance aesthetics with functionality and align with strategic roadmaps.
· Analytical and customer‑centric mindset to translate feedback into actionable design requirements.
· Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional and global teams.
· Organized, self‑driven, and able to manage multiple initiatives.
· Growth mindset with adaptability and process improvement focus.
· Willingness to travel (30%)
· Located in Karlsruhe or home office in Germany with regular visits to the office in Karlsruhe.
Preferred:
· Portfolio demonstrating UX research, design, and successful handoff to R&D.
· Knowledge of GUI development processes and constraints.
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with specialization on UX/UI.
