Product Test Engineer - Engine Systems Unit

Job Description
BAE Systems in Fort Wayne is searching for a highly motivated Product Test Engineer who will provide a 1st level of troubleshooting to ensure product compliance and will drive ongoing test process efficiency through continuous improvement. Our Product Test Engineers are expected to be able to troubleshoot failing circuits down to a component level in order to be able to disposition the product for repair. Depending on application type, our Electronics Engineer may be interacting with Analog, Digital, and/or Programmable logic technologies. Troubleshooting is accomplished with the use of standard electrical lab and test equipment but familiarity with advanced tools/techniques is a plus. This role does not have a design aspect specifically; however, our Test Engineers engage with our design teams to understand issues and drive improvement initiatives in order to approve test yield. While experience is preferred, entry level candidates that are goal-oriented, driven by challenges, and willing to learn in order to grow their skills are encouraged to apply as we are willing to train applicants with applicable background.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• Intermediate-level technical skills and knowledge of technical requirements
• Electronics component level troubleshooting and instrument familiarity (analog and/or digital)
• General understanding of electronics manufacturing process
• Ability to interpret technical specifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering (EE), or technical degree programe.
• Lean Manufacturing experience
• Demonstrated ability in isolating electrical failures to root cause
• Ability to interpret and apply specifications, standards, and customer requirements
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple activities in a team environment
• Advanced-level technical skills, knowledge of technical requirements, and system flows skills relevant to job/area of work

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $64935 - $110390
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
