Ready to take your career global?
Every successful payment starts with technology people can rely on. As a Technical Customer Service Representative at Global Payments, you will be a trusted point of contact for clients and merchants, helping them resolve technical issues with point of sale (POS) products and payment systems. Your ability to listen, investigate and find the right solution will keep their businesses moving.
What you’ll own
- Resolve technical issues with confidence by diagnosing client and merchant questions involving POS products, including dial-up card swipe terminals and standard software-based systems, so businesses can keep their payment operations running.
- Create clear, effective client experiences by explaining solutions in straightforward language and adapting your approach to the needs of each client or merchant.
- Investigate issues and make informed decisions by using databases, documentation, online resources and established processes to identify the right resolution and increasingly tackle issues beyond standard guidance.
- Strengthen payment expertise by building your knowledge of POS products, policies, procedures and industry regulations through ongoing training and practical experience.
- Keep information accurate and actionable by capturing complete details about inquiries and technical issues, creating reliable records that improve service quality and future issue resolution.
- Protect client and business interests by applying relevant policies, procedures, compliance requirements and payment association regulations when resolving technical questions.
- Build your technical capability by working across personal computers, mainframe systems, software packages and front-end programs, expanding your ability to troubleshoot within a payments environment.
- Grow your impact over time by developing the judgment and product knowledge to resolve increasingly complex technical questions with greater independence and contribute to stronger client and merchant outcomes.
What you bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant professional experience. Four or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience, ideally within the payments industry, with a track record of listening carefully, communicating clearly and resolving questions effectively.
- Basic computer skills and the confidence to learn and work across multiple systems, databases, software packages and front-end programs.
- A practical problem-solving mindset, with the ability to research issues, assess available information and choose an effective solution for routine to moderately complex inquiries.
- The ability to work independently, using established guidance for day-to-day decisions while applying sound judgment when a situation requires a different approach.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments where you’ve built or maintained systems that operate with high availability, security, and performance expectations.
- Curiosity about payments and technology, with the drive to build your industry knowledge, stay current with changing products and processes, and turn new knowledge into better client experiences.
About the team
You will build valuable expertise in payments while working across telephone, email, chat and SMS channels. With access to established processes, online resources and ongoing training, you will deepen your technical knowledge and grow your understanding of the payments industry.
In this role, you’ll own the resolution of client and merchant technical questions, create positive service experiences and build the knowledge you need to handle increasingly complex issues. You’ll use your judgment to investigate problems, apply the right solutions and keep accurate records that strengthen service quality. Your work will create better experiences for the people and businesses that rely on Global Payments and help shape the future of commerce.
