We are the Trade Finance, Working Capital and Physical Commodities Crew in the Carbon Trade and Commodities Business Unit.
The Commodities, Trade & Carbon (CTC) business within IB&M provides expertise in 3 core areas:
- Risk management – helping customers manage exposure to price changes through derivative products
- Inventory management and storage solutions – supporting clients with structured financing products (e.g. supply chain financing, repo) to access physical commodities and facilitate their transportation from production to consumption
- Financing – providing clients with funding in the form of short term and/or self-liquidating debt (e.g. asset-based loan, pre-pay, traditional trade finance)
CTC works closely with the Bank’s key industry coverage teams particularly within the Natural Resources & Industrial, Transport & Consumer sectors where clients have significant commodity exposures that need to be managed.
Do work that matters
Reporting to the Managing Director Crew Lead of Trade Finance, Working Capital and Physical Commodities Crew, these newly created roles will see you deliver a roadmap for a Domain Squad.
You will be responsible for:
- Enabling Digital product journeys customers love
- Modelling Trade finance, Working Capital & Physical Commodities transactions and associated data enabling automation via a data-based business
- Reduce operational cost & risk whilst optimising returns
Your responsibilities
- Work with the sales business to co-create and prioritise for a digital product squad
- Identify risk, dependencies, and issues for the squad in line with excellent management of operational risk and compliance outcomes.
- Stay abreast of external market trends, including regulatory, economics and innovation.
- Build and foster strong relationships across the product value chain, including frontline teams, compliance and technology to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives and resolution of issues.
- Support crew lead to ensure overall crew objectives and business OKRs are met
- Lead the work of end to end digital delivery for a product squad by providing business context, clarity and digital product vision
- Work with COO, Line 1 & Line 2 Risk teams and Compliance to proactively identify, articulate and manage risks
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
- Have previous experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Have highly developed knowledge of Financial Markets
- Possess expert knowledge of Documentary Trade; Physical Commodities; Supply Chain Financing; and Working Capital & Borrowing Base
- Ability to Design digital Wireframes or understand quantitative analytics associated with the business would be an advantage
- Are adept at collaborating across multiple teams
- Possess strong negotiation skills and can manage multiple priorities
- Understand Agile and have been successful in Agile businesses including managing a team’s velocity via Jira
