Summary Generated by Built In

BrainRocket is a global company creating end-to-end tech products for clients across Fintech, iGaming, and Marketing. ‍Young, ambitious, and unstoppable, we've already taken Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Poland, and Serbia by storm. Our BRO team consists of 1,300 bright minds creating innovative ideas and products. We don’t follow formats. We shape them. We build what works, launch it fast, and make sure it hits.

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our team in Lisbon and take ownership of large-scale and complex product initiatives. You will be the driving force connecting business objectives to development execution, ensuring that every feature, improvement, and release delivers real value to our users and aligns with the company’s vision.
As a Product Owner, your mission is to define, prioritize, and refine the product backlog to maximize value delivery. You will translate business goals into clear, actionable requirements, guide the development team through well-defined sprints, and maintain transparent communication between stakeholders and engineers. You will be deeply involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and requirement gathering to release validation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize the Product Backlog, creating, organizing, and prioritizing tasks according to key business goals
  • Define sprint goals, setting the main tasks and objectives for each sprint
  • Prepare requirements, gathering, documenting, and clarifying both functional and non-functional requirements together with stakeholders
  • Participate in and run Scrum ceremonies, joining daily stand-ups and supporting sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Communicate with stakeholders, maintaining clear and open communication to secure approval on key decisions and directions
  • Refine the backlog, collaborating with the team to prepare and clarify tasks before sprint planning while improving and updating requirements
  • Manage change requests, collecting and prioritizing operational changes to include in future sprints
  • Define acceptance criteria, establishing clear conditions to verify that tasks are completed properly and meet quality standards
  • Maintain and control requirements, creating, updating, and ensuring that requirements match the current project status
  • Create and support epics, user stories, use cases, and edge cases
  • Participate in OKR planning, collaborating with stakeholders to set goals, evaluate progress, and plan quarterly objectives

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with direct ownership of requirements
  • Proven experience in large-scale and complex projects involving backend and frontend development
  • Strong understanding of the full requirements lifecycle and backlog management, with hands-on experience writing user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and task definitions
  • Ability to independently clarify and elaborate requirements, turning business ideas into clear and actionable development tasks
  • Solid knowledge of API integrations, product architecture, and core technical concepts
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and drive outcomes
  • Advanced level of English
  • Experience creating and interpreting UML and BPMN diagrams
  • Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to well-structured sprint planning

Benefits

  • Learning and development opportunities and interesting, challenging tasks
  • Relocation package (tickets, staying in a hotel for up to 2 weeks, and visa relocation support for our employees and their family members)
  • Opportunity to develop language skills, with partial compensation for the cost of English and Portuguese language classes (for localization purposes)
  • Partial compensation for tennis and padel lessons
  • Urban Sport membership benefit (the most diverse sports and wellness offering in Europe, with more than 50+ activities)
  • Private medical coverage, including inpatient, outpatient, dental care, annual check-ups, and maternity support
  • Time for proper rest, with 24 non-business days per year and an additional 6 paid sick days
  • Transport compensation - 200 euros net per month
  • Competitive remuneration level with annual review
  • Teambuilding activities
