What You Will Contribute:
 

This position will be responsible for delivering on the product roadmap vision of the product marketing manager to bring innovative software products to market that meet customer needs and manage them throughout their product life cycles. The Product Owner supports, develops and manages software products that satisfy all stakeholders by defining software product requirements (epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria), maintaining the software product backlog, and communicating company priorities to maximize the business value obtained from our software development efforts.

DESCRIPTION

• Coordinate with product marketing manager to develop short- and long-range product roadmaps consistent with market needs and trends, and corporate strategic plans.
• Optimize the value of the software development efforts, balancing feature value and cost, and focusing on new product/feature development to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Gather stakeholder input and approval on UX designs before and during development.
• Define marketing product requirements (epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria) and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
• Groom and prioritize the software product backlog in preparation for sprint planning.
• Take a leadership role on the dev team to facilitate decisions and remove roadblocks.
• Work with Scrum Master to coordinate development efforts across engineering teams.
• Responsible for BEACON and BEACON Mobile, EyeOnWater portal and mobile apps, and product configuration utilities.
• Works with meter and technology marketing managers and their teams to assure all company software needs and priorities are meet and we are delivering an optimized total solution.
• Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of competitive products and industry trends to support and develop competitive software features to increase market penetration.
• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
• Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable Badger Meter policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• Eight or more years of related experience
• Software Product development experience preferred
• Product Owner Certification preferred
• In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
• Attention to details
• Sharp problem-solving skills and a creative thinker

This position requires up to 25% travel.

We follow a hybrid work policy with 2 days of WFH.

The expected salary for this role is $120,000-140,000.
