IQVIA’s Health System Solutions (HSS) is seeking a Product Owner to join the Health Data Research Platform (HDRP) team, within the Research Solutions domain.
The Product Owner will support the development and evolution of the platform by translating user and business needs—particularly from hospital and clinical research environments—into clear, actionable product requirements.
The Product Owner is the operational owner of product delivery, responsible for translating product direction and real world user needs into clear, development ready requirements. This role focuses on backlog ownership, requirement quality, and close collaboration with engineering teams to deliver usable, compliant research software.
You will work closely with the Product Manager, Engineering, QA, Compliance, and Business Stakeholders across an international healthcare software portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain a prioritised and refined product backlog aligned with approved roadmap items.
- Translate user and business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure backlog items meet Definition of Ready and support efficient sprint execution.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and QA to clarify requirements and resolve functional or technical ambiguity.
- Represent clinical research and hospital workflows in product design and delivery decisions (being the voice of the customer).
- Act as the functional product expert for assigned areas, validating solutions from an end‑user perspective.
- Support delivery governance activities, including sprint reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Technical background (BSc in Engineering, Computer Science or similar) and prior experience working in Product or Project Management.
- Experience working in clinical research, trial management, hospital IT, or healthcare software environments.
- Ability to write clear, precise product requirements and user stories.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Proficient English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with clinical trial management, biobanking, or research analytics platforms.
- Applied understanding of healthcare data models, interoperability, and data exchange mechanisms, including standards such as FHIR, HL7, and XML based interfaces, and clinical terminologies (e.g. SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD, CDISC).
- Experience working in regulated or compliance aware environments, and in quality or regulatory frameworks relevant to healthcare and medical software.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on a market-leading research and hospital software platform within IQVIA.
- Close collaboration with Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Supportive environment with on-the-job learning and mentorship.
- Hybrid working model with an office base in Barcelona.
