As a Product Owner at Plume, you will serve as the tactical engine who translates strategic vision into well-executed software features that directly improve the healthcare experience for trans lives.
Every day, you will refine the backlog, guide cross-functional teams through execution, and serve as an empathetic, high-EQ connector who navigates delivery friction and team dynamics with composure. You will feel most confident in high-velocity, collaborative environments where you prioritize getting it right over being right to ensure seamless execution.
This mid-level role requires hands-on software delivery experience, a strong grasp of software delivery principles, and a deep, authentic commitment to serving those in the TGNC community. In this role, you will hone your delivery mastery and cross-functional leadership within a fast-scaling, mission-driven healthtech organization.
Responsibilities:
Create clarity for teams by turning complex healthcare requirements, operational needs, and cross-functional feedback into clear, actionable paths forward for engineering and design teams.
Own and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases are meticulously defined for development teams.
Lead daily Agile delivery ceremonies, including planning, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospectives using Agile frameworks.
Translate high-level product strategy and operational feedback into actionable, well-structured technical requirements and workflows.
Build trust across cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, Marketing, Clinical Operations, and Care Coordinators) as a high-EQ connector who resolves conflicting priorities with equanimity.
Manage feature delivery timelines and release schedules to maintain a predictable, high-velocity output across the team.
Leverage data to tell compelling stories that drive objective decision-making, using usage metrics, operational analytics, and bug reports to inform feature triage, backlog prioritization, and cross-functional trade-offs.
Monitor sprint metrics, delivery velocity, bug counts, and release health to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvement.
Incorporate continuous user feedback, usability testing findings, and operational analytics into sprint iterations with a growth-mindset approach.
Communicate transparently with internal stakeholders regarding release timelines, delivery risks, and feature scope changes.
Ensure all delivered digital tools and feature updates strictly comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA) and patient data privacy standards.
Drive operational efficiency by standardizing user story templates, acceptance criteria formats, and sprint documentation in Jira and Confluence.
Must-Have:
A genuine passion for leveraging product delivery to transform healthcare access for trans lives
3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or Senior Business Analyst, with a track record of driving software features across the finish line.
Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), story writing, acceptance criteria definition, and delivery execution.
A collaborative mindset focused on getting it right, not being right. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build trust, and manage challenges with equanimity.
Proven ability to write clear, user-facing release notes and comprehensive how-to guides to support feature launches and drive internal/external adoption.
An open, adaptable attitude that views feedback, edge cases, and changing requirements as opportunities to learn and iterate.
Demonstrated experience working with 3rd-party API integrations and a strong technical understanding of backend vs. frontend concepts (hands-on coding or HTML/CSS writing is not required).
Proficient with Jira, Confluence, G Suite, Google Data Studio.
Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to articulate technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
High precision in writing user stories, testing edge cases, and ensuring requirements are unambiguous for engineering teams.
Nice To Have:
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile delivery certification.
Previous experience working within a fast-paced healthtech or DTC startup environment.
Direct experience working with or within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Working knowledge or proficiency in SQL for self-serve database querying, data analysis, and validating platform behavior.
Experience analyzing conversion funnels and product metrics using tools like Looker, Google Analytics, or Big Query.
