Your business  

The Engineering Pathways Crew, within the Engineering Platform Domain ensures that CommBank has a world-class engineering capability and is at the forefront of technology.  

We deliver, manage and operate the key engineering platform capabilities that enable our CommBank engineering community to deliver innovative solutions to the CBA Group and our customers.  

We continually push to improve the CommBank engineering experience through the development and adoption of new platform level capabilities that continually improve the CBA Group’s DevSecOps maturity. Integrating the best AI capabilities to further improve the experience is core to our mission. 

Do work that matters 

As a Product Owner within the Engineering Pathways Crew, you will drive two critical engineering experience outcomes:  

• Drive the design, build and management of engineering golden paths that optimise the delivery of AI-enabled products and services 

• Accelerate the adoption of AI capabilities as an enabler to drive the full cycle DevSecOps engineering experience within the CBA Group 

Role responsibilities: 

• Work closely with Crew leads and engineers to translate product objectives and customer needs into actionable engineering deliverables and take responsibility for delivery outcomes. 

• Be the champion for business stakeholders and other internal product teams to push for ever greater product value in support of our strategic ambition 

• Work hand in hand with the engineering team to translate objectives into user stories that enable a high velocity of delivery, always applying a DevSecOps mindset 

• Effectively balance new feature delivery with operational effectiveness to enable sustainable velocity without incurring too much technical debt 

• Drive the research and evaluate data and opportunities to inform longer term product roadmaps. 

 What you bring: 

• Proven track record of leading owning and delivering the product roadmap for technical / platform products. 

• Extensive knowledge of product ownership in the context of cloud enabled full cycle engineering and DevSecOps Practices 

• Exceptional strategic thinking and an obsession of solving customer problems. 

• A clear passion for transforming the ways engineers can deliver great customer outcomes.  

• A strong appreciation of one or more of the following domains / technologies:  

  • AI-augmented development e.g. Cursor, Bolt, Cline, or Project IDX. 

  • AI-augmented test & QA tooling, security & code quality tooling.  

  • AI-augmented code documentation tooling 

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, articulate trade-offs, and align technical decisions with business objectives
