Essential Job Duties

As a Product Marketing Manager overseeing competitive intelligence at BambooHR, you will own competitive research and enablement to inform business/product strategy and arm our sales team to win in competitive deals. You will help us broaden our understanding of how we win and lose in the market among direct and indirect competitors and suggest strategies for growth. You will also be assigned to manage and share our closed/lost data to help ensure accuracy and broaden internal awareness. You will work closely with our product marketing, sales, expansion, product management, and demand generation teams to help drive differentiation in the market.

You will:

  • Perform research, both qualitative and quantitative, to better understand our competitive landscape in terms of offerings, roadmaps, strategy, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Craft insight & analysis to assess current & emerging competitive trends
  • Work with vendors to accomplish key research tasks and uncover deep competitive insights
  • Develop differentiating messaging & positioning for BambooHR backed by customer evidence
  • Work with our sales enablement team and sales leadership to develop an “always on” program to educate the sales team and roll out sales tools and programs to drive up our win rate.
  • Develop and maintain competitive landscape content including web site pages, presentations, demos, and other assets
  • In conjunction with demand gen, formulate and execute competitive campaigns
  • Attend key competitor & industry events, analyze press coverage and announcements and report on meaningful findings

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • You have 3-4 years of experience in product marketing or competitive intelligence, preferably with business-to-business SaaS solutions.  
  • You thrive in a highly dynamic, flexible, and collaborative work environment and can switch rapidly from research to strategy to execution.
  • Excellent competitive messaging and positioning skills at both business and technical levels (working with technical subject matter experts).
  • Experience with aspects of product marketing including messaging, positioning, packaging, branding, creative development, and campaign execution.
  • Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated capabilities in interpreting data and qualitative info and distilling into actionable key takeaways.
  • Strong internal communicator and collaborator.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams that span marketing, sales, and product management organizations.
  • Strong attention to detail and can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You're located in one of these states: Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Georgia, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia (If you're located in Utah, we expect you to come to the office regularly).
