Product Manager

Adaptive ML is a frontier AI startup building a Reinforcement Learning Operations (RLOps) platform that enables enterprises to specialize and deploy LLMs into production with measurable impact.

We provide the core infrastructure to tune, evaluate, and serve specialized models at scale — pioneering task-specific LLM development and running production-ready workflows that serve millions of requests while optimizing for both cost and performance across distributed systems.

Our tightly-knit team was previously involved in the creation of state-of-the-art open-access large language models. We raised a $20M seed led by Index Ventures and ICONIQ in early 2024, and we’re already live in production with customers including Manulife, AT&T, Deloitte, across travel and financial services — with much more to be announced soon.

At Adaptive ML, our Success team is part of our Technical Staff. Our Technical Staff develops the foundational technology that powers Adaptive ML, while the Success Team ensures our enterprise customers effectively leverage these technologies—particularly through our Adaptive Engine product—to unlock maximum value.

We’re hiring a Product Manager to take end-to-end responsibility over core parts of the Adaptive platform.

This role is for someone who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, takes full ownership, and enjoys building products for highly technical users (ML engineers, researchers, platform teams).

You will operate end-to-end: discovery → framing → execution → iteration → outcomes.

No predefined roadmap. No hand-holding. High expectations, high impact.

Product ownership

• Own product areas end-to-end, from problem discovery to delivery and iteration.

• Continuously prioritize in an environment where the market and constraints evolve fast.

• Be accountable for product quality, bugs, and user-reported issues.

User-centric discovery

• Work directly with highly technical customers to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and edge cases.

• Translate complex, technical feedback into clear product decisions.

Execution with technical teams

• Write clear, detailed specs and iterate tightly with engineers and ML researchers.

• Balance speed with rigor; catch edge cases early.

• Prototype early and often (including AI-assisted prototypes) to accelerate learning and iteration.

Clarity in complexity

• Make technically complex systems simple and usable without hiding their power.

• Adapt communication and product thinking to different audiences.

Experience

• Product Management: 5+ years of relevant experience in new, competitive, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments.

• Experience building products for technical users (developers, ML engineers, infra teams).

Core skills

• Ownership & agency: You’re self-directed, with a strong bias for action, and you own outcomes end-to-end.

• Cross-functional influence: Proven ability to align and inspire engineering, design, and go-to-market teams without direct authority.

• Problem-solving: Balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution. Comfortable shaping direction and diving into details.

• Communication: Clear, structured, and effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaboration: Low ego, high EQ. You build trust and drive decisions through clarity, not hierarchy.
  

Strong plus

• Technical background or strong technical intuition (ML, infra, data, or similar).

• Familiarity with LLMs, evaluation, training pipelines, or AI developer tools.

• Startup or hyper-growth experience.

• You’ll help shape a core AI platform used in real production by large enterprises.

• You’ll work with a small, elite technical team at the frontier of applied AI.
