The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to join DSPolitical’s highly collaborative Engineering team. The Product Manager is a key role that serves both as the product liaison for features and the project manager for delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable with all aspects of software delivery, from requirements gathering and solutions design to managing the implementation of features and launch. The Product Manager will facilitate all non-technical aspects of the software development lifecycle, from scoping new features to preparing marketing and training materials for new features. This role is a mid-level team member in the department, reporting to the Director of Product. They will work with team leadership to manage internal and external user research, refine project management processes, and contribute to roadmap development. Additionally, there will be opportunities to mentor more junior team members.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders and Engineering leadership to scope and deliver new features and products for the DSPolitical software platform to achieve company-wide business goals. 
  • Serve as a central facilitator for collecting, researching, and validating product and feature ideas based on user research and platform metrics.
  • Interview relevant internal and external stakeholders and map workflows to scope and design feature solutions within existing DSPolitical technical frameworks. 
  • Function as the business liaison, acceptance tester, and facilitator of feature work with software engineers and dedicated Salesforce developers.
  • Deliver MVP features to fulfill the company’s business goals using iterative, user-centered, continuous delivery methodologies. 
  • Define relevant metrics to analyze feature performance and adoption post-launch. 
  • Facilitate efficient communication about projects and support work across a widely distributed team.
  • Coordinate quality assurance, marketing, and training communications for new releases.
  • Provide occasional 3rd-tier troubleshooting support, including documenting bugs and coordinating their resolution.
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of project and feature documentation across the department.
  • Escalates major prioritization or scope tradeoff decisions to Product leadership.
 

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software product and project management or related disciplines. 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong experience with agile software development methodologies and related tools.
  • Experience in the progressive technology, electoral and advocacy spaces, or the programmatic advertising industry is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills, emphasizing the ability to communicate fluently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across all departments and levels. 
 

DSPolitical is proud to offer the following:

Office Hours

This position is based in Washington, DC however, we are open to remote work in other states. We will be working on a hybrid basis with many team members working entirely from home. Work hours are consistently 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, with the expectation that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary.
