About Talroo

We are honored to be recognized as a multi-award winning organization. Talroo has been consistently recognized as a Top Workplace and a Best Place to Work in Austin. We've been ranked the last five years by Inc. 500/5000 as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. You'll also find us on the Austin Business Journal's Fast 50 growth awards list multiple times. We're growing the right way, and we need exceptional talent to help us build upon our successful story.

Talroo is helping organizations like Uber, McDonald's, UPS, The Home Depot, Target and more, find and hire their essential workforces. Our data-driven job and hiring event recruiting platform turns the Internet into a help wanted sign. Our pay-for-performance model enables customers to maximize efficiency, not waste spend, and hire employees faster than they could with any of our competitors.

Rather than drive customers to a destination site, Talroo uses a consumer marketing approach to deliver job opportunities to candidates where they are already spending time online. Similar to how major ad networks work for their advertisers, Talroo uncovers the right candidates that companies are looking to hire.

Talroo leverages a search-and-match algorithm powered by state-of-the-art AI technologies. Our deep-learning processes analyze billions of signals daily, assessing the job seeker–employer relationship in real time. This produces significantly better search results for the job seekers, and higher quality applicant matches for the employer.

While we focus on providing amazing results and service for our customers, within our exciting company you'll also find a high-performance environment of collaboration, encouragement, transparency and fun!

About the position

This is a fully in-office role in Austin, TX. Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm CT.

You'll be a Product Manager working across Talroo's search, engagement, and platform teams. You'll work alongside experienced engineering and data science teams who know the product and the domain well. Your role is to add market perspective, product strategy, and a data-driven approach to figuring out what to build next.

This is a chance to shape how product management evolves at Talroo. You'll help define what good PM work looks like here, which means building relationships, earning trust, and showing your value through the decisions you make and the results that follow.

You'll work across both sides of our marketplace. On the employer side, you'll help advertisers spend more efficiently and get better results from their hiring budgets. On the job seeker side, you'll shape consumer-facing products that help candidates discover the right opportunities, including our job search experience, email and SMS engagement channels, and features designed to turn first-time visitors into returning users. You'll sit at the intersection of search relevance, consumer engagement, auction economics, and job seeker experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across search, engagement, and platform. Work with engineering leads to get alignment on priorities and build real buy-in around where we're headed.
  • Figure out where the biggest opportunities are by understanding both sides of the marketplace: what advertisers need to spend well, and what job seekers need to find, apply to, and come back for the right jobs.
  • Have a point of view on where Talroo's product should go. Back it up with data about market gaps, competitive dynamics, and customer behavior. Be willing to defend it.
  • Work directly with engineering on technical tradeoffs. You should be comfortable talking about search ranking, recommendation systems, engagement optimization, bid mechanics, and consumer-facing UI/UX, even if you're not writing the code.
  • Help build the product management function: figure out what good PM work looks like at Talroo, and put rituals and processes in place that add value without adding overhead.
  • Bridge the gap between what customers ask for and what the business actually needs. Turn sales feedback, job seeker behavior data, and engagement metrics into product strategy.
  • Own job seeker retention and engagement across channels (web, email, SMS). Use data to understand what brings candidates back and what converts them into returning users.
  • Define success metrics for your initiatives and hold yourself accountable to them.

Required qualifications

  • 2+ years of product management experience as the primary PM embedded directly with an engineering team.
  • Track record of influencing without authority. You've changed the direction of a team or product by getting buy-in from people who didn't report to you. We'll ask for specific examples.
  • Experience shaping a PM function. You've helped grow or reshape a product management function, earned trust from technical teams, and shown your value through results, not process.
  • Comfortable in technical debate. You can disagree with a senior engineer, stay open to their perspective, and keep the working relationship intact. You're steady under pressure and work through disagreement constructively.
  • Technically fluent. You don't need to code, but you need to keep up in conversations about search systems, ranking algorithms, auction mechanics, and data pipelines. Engineers should feel like you get the tradeoffs they're dealing with.
  • Consumer product sense. You've worked on user-facing products and you naturally think about what makes someone come back, what drives engagement, and how design choices affect behavior. You're comfortable working with designers and making calls that balance business goals with job seeker needs.
  • Data-driven. You reach for evidence, not opinion. When you propose something, you've already thought about how you'd measure whether it's working.
  • BA/BS required; technical degree a strong plus.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in ad-tech, programmatic advertising, or two-sided marketplaces
  • Background in search, relevance, recommendation systems, or user engagement
  • Experience with consumer-facing web or mobile products, including lifecycle marketing, retention, or growth
  • Experience in talent acquisition, HR tech, or job board platforms
  • Graduate degree or engineering background
  • Experience with supply-and-demand economics, pricing, or auction design

What success looks like

First 90 days: You've built good working relationships across the search, engagement, and platform teams. You understand how the systems work, you've contributed to what's already in flight, and you've identified 2–3 product ideas worth testing.

First 6 months: You've shipped or started testing at least one initiative that came from your own analysis of the market or user behavior, and the team got behind it because you made the case with data. You know how job seekers use our product across channels and where the biggest engagement gaps are.

First year: Engineering teams see you as someone who makes them better. The roadmap reflects a mix of technical investment, market-driven bets, and job seeker experience work. You've moved at least one engagement or retention metric in a measurable way. Leadership has a clearer picture of where the product is going and why.

Benefits

  • Competitive Total Compensation package
  • Comprehensive, company-paid health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents
  • Company-paid gym membership or ClassPass
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 3% employer contribution
  • 100% paid parental leave
  • Unlimited PTO (responsibly managed)
  • Paid company holidays
  • Awesome company events

Talroo is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status, and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
