StackHawk helps engineers find and fix application security bugs.
The Role
The Product Manager will drive customer-centric product development, oversee execution of the product vision, enable AI innovation, and collaborate cross-functionally to ship impactful features in application security.
Summary Generated by Built In
StackHawk is reimagining AppSec for AI-driven development, where applications are built faster than AppSec tools can keep up. We enable AppSec teams to prioritize testing and fixing what matters with our AppSec Intelligence Platform, which combines scalable runtime testing with attack surface discovery from source code. By delivering real-time visibility and centralized program intelligence, StackHawk empowers AppSec teams to evaluate risk, prove value, and scale testing coverage.

The reality: AI has accelerated development velocity by 3-5x, enabling code to be written faster than AppSec teams can track it, while threat actors launch attacks at machine speed. Meanwhile, security teams are stuck with tools that can't keep up—SAST creates alert fatigue, legacy DAST catches issues too late, and there's no visibility into what apps exist or how secure they are. Security can't just keep up with AI innovation—it has to fuel it.

About the Role

Reporting to the VP of Product & Design, you'll drive execution on our platform vision—shipping features that transform how AppSec teams operate in the AI era. This isn't incremental feature work. You'll be instrumental in delivering AI-powered discovery, intelligence-driven testing, and automated remediation capabilities that represent the future of application security. You'll own product areas from customer validation through launch, working cross-functionally to ship solutions that enable security teams to operate at the pace of AI development.

You'll leverage AI to accelerate your own PM function while building AI-first security capabilities for customers—from LLM detection in attack surface discovery to AI-powered business logic testing to automated remediation workflows. You'll have direct influence on product strategy through enterprise customer discovery, strategic roadmap decisions, and market positioning.

This role includes regular collaboration at our downtown Denver headquarters (our Product Development team meets in person on Wednesdays), travel to customer locations for on-site discovery sessions, and attending industry conferences to connect with AppSec professionals, showcase our platform, and engage with the broader security community.

If you're energized by high-impact product development, love talking to customers, and want to drive meaningful change at a growing company—especially in the intersection of AI and security—this role is for you.

What You’ll Own

  • Drive Customer-Centric Product Development – Lead customer discovery activities, conduct user research, and translate insights into features that ship fast. You'll be the voice of the customer internally, ensuring every product decision is grounded in real user needs.
  • Validate and Execute Product Vision – Take strategic direction from leadership and the quickly evolving AppSec market and validate solutions through customer feedback, competitive research, and rapid experimentation. Ship features that create immediate value for our AppSec and developer customers.
  • Champion Cross-Functional Execution – Work directly with Design and Engineering to prioritize ruthlessly and ship quickly. You know how to maximize the effectiveness of technical teams while maintaining high quality and user experience.
  • Launch and Measure Impact – Partner with Go-to-Market teams to bring new capabilities, including AI-powered innovations, to market. Define the right metrics, measure what matters, and iterate based on data—not just opinions.
  • Drive AI Innovation – Identify and validate how AI can enhance our platform, then ship those capabilities to customers. You'll help us lead the market in applying AI to AppSec challenges—turning opportunities into delivered features that make security teams more effective.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven 0-to-1 Experience – You've built and shipped products from scratch in B2B SaaS environments. You know what it takes to transform a customer problem into a shipped solution.
  • Customer Development Expertise – You're skilled at customer discovery, genuinely curious about user behavior, and obsessed with understanding the "why" behind customer needs. You know how to ask the right questions, balance structured research with speed of learning, and turn customer insights into successful product features.
  • AppSec Knowledge – You have experience with or deep interest in application security, vulnerability management, or DevSecOps. You understand the challenges security and development teams face when trying to build secure applications.
  • Strong Execution – You know how to prioritize effectively, work cross-functionally to remove blockers, and have experience partnering with GTM teams to ship features that create immediate customer value.
  • Experimentation Mindset – You're not afraid to test ideas, make mistakes, and learn quickly. You understand that in a fast-moving market, speed of learning beats perfection.
  • Adaptable and Growth-Minded – You thrive in evolving environments and aren't locked into rigid processes. You're open to new ideas and approaches as the business grows.
  • AI Curiosity – You're passionate about AI's potential and actively explore how to utilize AI to be more effective personally and how to integrate AI capabilities into current and new product features.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with developer tooling or technical products
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps, CI/CD, or security workflows
  • Previous experience at early-stage startups (Seed/Series A/B)
  • Background working with technical buyers and security teams

The Goods

  • Competitive Compensation: Earn a competitive salary and get an equity stake in the company that we are building together.
  • Solid Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance 100% paid for employees and dependents. Other benefits include life insurance, AD&D, and 401K
  • Time to Recharge Encouraged: Take what you need, vacation plus ten paid holidays! Unplug, recharge, and come back refreshed
