The Role

Job Description:

Product Manager - Private Label & Owned Brands with business acumen to lead the development and commercialization of new products, platforms, and packaging for Private Label & Owned Brands. In this role, you will drive private brand development, strategy and category performance. You will leverage consumer insights, market trends, and data-driven insights to prioritize opportunities for growth that align with our strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Innovation and Product Development

  • Translate the Private Brands vision into new products and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive product innovation using consumer insights, market data, and business metrics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Present clear, data-backed product strategies to senior management to secure buy-in and alignment.

Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, gross profit, and market share.
  • Leverage data analysis tools to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.

Business Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute product development strategies that align with overarching category goals and deliver measurable business results.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Category Managers, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless execution of product launches.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
  • Collaborate with external partners to optimize sourcing, Products, and production efficiency.

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Coach and mentor up team members, fostering professional growth and alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in developing innovative and consumer-driven solutions.

Consumer Insights and Packaging Innovation

  • Drive sustainable and cost-effective packaging innovations that align with consumer needs and environmental considerations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in product development, brand management, or innovation roles within the CPG industry.
  • Experience in Convenience Store channel is desirable.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to leverage consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to develop successful product strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics (e.g., sales, gross profit) and business modeling to align product development with company goals.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power Bi) to assess product performance and market trends.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting complex strategies to senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation in the food and beverage industry.
