About the role

Tamara’s ambition is to become the region’s favorite way to pay for what we call life’s little essentials – a new way of purchasing designed for and around our customers’ interests. We believe that great design has the ability to engage and inspire.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Product Manager II– Consumer Credit to lead the underwriting strategy and execution across a suite of loan products, including Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), Line of Credit, Purchase Financing, and Personal Loans.

You’ll be responsible for shaping the product experiences, eligibility flows, and credit decisioning logic that underpin responsible, scalable lending. Working closely with the Credit Scoring PM, you will translate scoring outputs into business rules, partner with risk and data science teams to continuously optimize approval rates and losses, and ensure regulatory compliance.

This is a cross-functional role requiring strong collaboration with credit risk policy, data science, legal, engineering, and design teams, and a keen understanding of customer needs, risk trade-offs, and growth levers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage underwriting policies, credit flows, and decision logic for multiple lending products
  • Collaborate with the Scoring PM to ensure scoring outputs are effectively used in real-time credit decisions
  • Translate credit strategies into product requirements and partner with engineering to implement them
  • Drive experimentation and A/B testing of new credit rules, pricing, and eligibility criteria
  • Partner with data science, risk, and analytics to monitor portfolio health and optimize performance across approval, conversion, and delinquency metrics
  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure underwriting practices align with regulatory standards
  • Serve as the product owner in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and go-to-market execution
  • Align product initiatives with broader company goals and customer experience standard

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in consumer lending, fintech, or financial services
  • Proven experience working on credit, lending, or underwriting-related products
  • Familiarity with loan lifecycle management, including originations, servicing, and collections
  • Exposure to risk-based pricing, credit models, and regulatory constraints (e.g., KYC/AML, fair lending)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make trade-offs in a high-stakes environment
  • Strong data literacy; experience working with credit performance metrics and experimentation frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication
  • Able to collaborate closely with scoring, data science, credit policy, engineering, and customer-facing teams
  • Comfortable translating high-level goals into actionable product requirements
