WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
AI is changing how enterprises work with their content — from finding answers and extracting metadata to automating complex workflows. Realizing that potential requires rigorous research grounded in real customer needs. We're looking for a Product Manager, AI Research to lead Box's applied AI research agenda. You'll identify high-impact research opportunities, drive experiments with Engineering and AI partners, and translate findings into better products. Your work will improve Box AI's capabilities, reliability, and efficiency while establishing Box's credibility in enterprise AI.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- You will define the research roadmap by identifying customer problems and emerging AI capabilities worth investigating across knowledge work, metadata extraction, workflow automation, and more, prioritizing based on product impact and Box's differentiation.
- You will drive applied experimentation by partnering with Engineering, AI labs, and the broader AI ecosystem to test models, post-training techniques, and agent configurations, turning findings into actionable recommendations for model selection and product capabilities.
- You will advance the Box Agent by partnering with the Box Agent Product and Engineering teams to test harness updates and emerging technologies, measure improvements and regressions, and apply validated advances to improve the Box Agent's capabilities, performance, and user favorability.
- You will represent Box externally by developing research publications and evidence-backed narratives with Marketing and Communications, and serving as Box's applied AI research spokesperson in media interviews, press releases, and webinars.
- You will align Product, Engineering, and external partners around clear research priorities and carry experiments through to decisions and implementation.
- You will communicate technical findings in plain language and build evidence-backed narratives for customers, executives, and external audiences.
