About the role:

Captions is looking for a Growth Product Manager to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention for our platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, optimize user flows, and implement data-driven strategies that scale our product. Your work will focus on enhancing activation and retention while expanding our user base and maximizing customer lifetime value. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on Captions' growth at a fast-paced startup in the video editing and AI creative tools space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive User Growth: Define and execute strategies to acquire, engage, and retain users, focusing on increasing activation rates, feature adoption, and long-term retention.

  • Optimize Onboarding & Activation: Lead initiatives to enhance user onboarding, reduce friction, and accelerate time-to-value for new users, improving overall activation and retention.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and user insights to continuously improve user flows, product features, and overall experience, ensuring growth metrics are met and exceeded.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, data science, marketing, and sales teams to implement growth strategies and optimize user journeys across the platform.

  • Experimentation & Iteration: Lead A/B testing and experimentation to drive insights and refine product features that contribute to scaling user acquisition and engagement.

  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and user feedback to identify new growth opportunities, guiding the product roadmap accordingly.

  • Foster Product-Led Growth (PLG): Develop product experiences that naturally drive user acquisition and engagement, turning Captions into a self-sustaining, growth engine.

  • Develop and execute an SEO strategy to drive organic growth through programmatic SEO, content marketing, and optimizing existing pages for search visibility.

  • Optimize User Retention: Build re-engagement strategies, leveraging push notifications, in-app messaging, and personalized content to drive long-term user retention.

  • Collaborate with Leadership: Present and communicate growth strategies, results, and product plans to executives and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in growth, user acquisition, or scaling consumer-facing or subscription-based businesses.

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

  • Experience leading growth initiatives in high-growth environments, focusing on user acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention.

  • Proven expertise in data-driven decision-making, with a strong ability to analyze growth metrics, perform A/B testing, and drive experimentation to optimize product performance.

  • Experience with SEO strategies, including programmatic SEO, content optimization, and leveraging SEO tools to drive organic growth.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with engineering, design, data science, marketing, and other teams to execute growth strategies.

  • Track record of success in driving growth through product-led strategies (PLG) or viral mechanisms that scale user bases.

  • Experience with tools for growth optimization, including customer segmentation, funnel analysis, and retention models.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and presenting complex strategies to executive leadership.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, balancing short-term execution with long-term growth planning.

  • Passion for scaling innovative .products and creating meaningful experiences that drive both business growth and user satisfaction.
