Overview

As a Senior Product Manager (contractor) at Very Good Ventures, you will be responsible for providing clarity, guardrails, and requirements for the work we do with our flagship client. You will help guide our client and internal teams through various frameworks and methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategy, prioritize product requirements, and lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, all while aligning with our client’s business goals. We are looking for a self-motivated and influential individual who can operate with a high degree of autonomy while working effectively with our world-class engineers.

As a Senior Product Manager (contractor), you will be an integral part of our organization, shaping and defining the success of the product management discipline. This position requires a flexible mindset, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of business, design, and technology.

Contract duration: 12 - 16 weeks (starting in January, 2025)

Availability to work in the U.S. Eastern time zone is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • The ability to autonomously develop, define, and communicate a clear product strategy aligned with overall business objectives, considering market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Elicit and document product requirements.
  • Collaborate with your team to create a comprehensive product roadmap, outlining key milestones, releases, and dependencies to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Prioritize product features and requirements using established frameworks and tools.
  • Document product features in user stories.
  • Lead and participate in Agile sprint ceremonies.
  • Define product success metrics and conduct data-informed feature optimization and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project strategy and execution.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis as needed.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies in your work.
  • Champion a user-centric approach, ensuring the design and functionality of projects contribute to a positive user experience.

Success Metrics:

  • Successful completion of scoped work and functionality.
  • Successful program resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Availability to start working within the first weeks of January, 2025.
  • 5-7 years of direct product management experience.
  • Extensive experience in building products across diverse industries.
  • Proven zero to one product launch experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development languages such as Flutter, React Native, JavaScript, etc.
  • Solid experience with Agile methodologies and common product management tools like JIRA, Asana, Monday.com, and GitHub.
  • Ability to manage discussions concerning API endpoints and SDK integration.
  • Ability to lead clients confidently and autonomously.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications/Nice to Have:

  • Previous client-facing agency or consulting experience. 
  • Previous experience in the telco industry.
  • Previous experience with projects involving Flutter.
