Description: 

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Engineer to join our team. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities related to the development, improvement, and support of our product line. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate new products, enhance existing offerings, and support seamless manufacturing, quality assurance, sales, and post-sales support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a preferred discipline of Electromechanical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on work experience related to electric appliances or similar electromechanical devices for residential or commercial use.
  • Strong electro-mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated knowledge of electromechanical and electronic component principles and operation including printed circuit board components.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Some domestic or international travel may be required.
  • Experience in managing product certifications; national and international code certifications.
  • Experience with prototyping and hands on testing.
  • Effective skills with 3D CAD modeling and 2D Drawing creation. Previous experience with Solidworks is preferred.
  • Effective analytical skills to systematically assess complex problems, breaking them down into manageable components to identify root causes and effective solutions.
  • Discipline in following established engineering practices and methodologies to ensure consistency and quality in results.
  • Strong communication skills that facilitate clear understanding of directives and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Integral member of New Product Development and VAVE project teams that works closely with cross functional teams to support the design aspects of new product launches.
  • Complete assigned deliverables in a timely and accurate manner as required by the Product Development Process. Utilizing Smart Sheets program to manage projects.
  • Hands on drafting/design activity to properly document all new designs within the existing document control system.
  • Manage the design and development of products to fulfill the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing project cost estimates.
  • Research and make recommendations for design enhancements or modifications to support cost reduction and quality improvements.
  • Hands on lab activity to develop and execute in house validation tests and field test programs.
  • Complete design project assignments in a timely efficient manner.
  • Properly manage engineering documentation such as bills of material, submittals, detail drawings and revisions, operation maintenance and installation instructions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Any other job duties as assigned; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Provide technical and training support to our sales team and customers, as needed.
