About Syntro
AI is walking, driving and flying into the physical world: humanoids, robotaxis, drones and a new class of autonomous machines. Each machine is built from thousands of parts. Sourcing just one still means trade shows, cold calls and endless scrolling on distributor sites. Supplier quotes land in a dozen formats, get re-keyed by hand into spreadsheets, and 100+ email threads follow just to confirm whether a part lands on time. It's 2026, and the most important machines of the next decade are still being sourced the way they were before the internet.
Syntro is building the first agentic procurement platform purpose-built for the realities of modern hardware manufacturing. We give manufacturers the ability to discover, select, and manage suppliers across the entire hardware lifecycle, from first prototype to production, at the speed and intelligence of AI.
We're an all-Stanford team that's experienced this problem firsthand at Apple, Dell, and Peloton. We're backed by Pear VC and Accel, alongside angels including Diane Greene (Founder, VMware) and Jeff Epstein (former CFO, Oracle).
The Role
We're looking for a product engineer who wants to work directly with customers, figure out what should exist, and then build it.
You'll spend meaningful time with procurement teams: onboarding them, watching them work, understanding where their processes break, and developing your own point of view about what we should build. Then you'll build it.
There isn't a product manager sitting between you and the customer. An insight from a Monday customer call might become a prototype Tuesday, go back in front of the customer Wednesday, and be in production Friday.
What You'll Own
Own customer problems end to end: Go from customer conversation → product decision → implementation → adoption.
Build across the stack: Own core product surfaces across frontend and backend in [Next.js, Node, Postgres, etc.].
Create visibility across hardware procurement: Connect supplier conversations, parts, quotes, POs, BOMs, and other workflows so teams know what's happening without reconstructing it manually.
Build intelligent workflows: Combine internal context with external supplier and market data to surface risks, opportunities, and what should happen next.
Define how humans and agents work together: Decide when Syntro should surface information, recommend an action, ask for approval, or execute autonomously.
Who You Are
You're an exceptional engineer, particularly with TypeScript and React, with strong product and design instincts.
You genuinely enjoy talking to customers and understanding how they work.
You can turn an ambiguous customer problem into a simple product and build it yourself.
You've taken important products or features from zero to one.
You'd rather determine what needs to exist than take tickets from a queue.
Bonus: You've founded a company, built at the earliest stages of one, worked on procurement/supply chain/manufacturing software, or built products on top of AI systems.
Skills Required
- Exceptional software engineering ability, particularly with TypeScript and React
- Strong product and design instincts
- Enjoys talking with customers and understanding their workflows
- Ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into simple products and build them independently
- Experience taking important products or features from zero to one
- Experience founding a company or working at an early-stage company
- Experience with procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing software
- Experience building products on top of AI systems
What We Do
Syntro builds an agentic procurement platform for modern hardware manufacturers. Its AI agents discover qualified component suppliers, help select sources, issue purchase orders, track supplier accounts, and adapt when bills of materials or supplier conditions change. The company supports hardware teams from initial prototypes through mass production, aiming to make sourcing faster, more intelligent, and more resilient across industries such as robotics, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and energy.
