WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a member of the Nike Product Development team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners – both within Nike and external to Nike.  You will report to the Footwear Product Development Manager in this category.

You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

As a Digital Expression developer, you will help drive the implementation of new digital tools in the product creation process through collaboration with digital tech & studio ops teammates and inline functional teams.  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are hiring for multiple roles on the Women's Sportswear Footwear team. Our group is seeking someone who is obsessed with making world class product and understands what product excellence means.

We are looking for a Footwear Product Developer II to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Creation Team, creating amazing footwear for our athletes! The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated proven project management experience, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development setting. In addition, we are looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players, navigates well through ambiguity, and that exhibit strong leadership skills.  As a member of our Nike team, we’ll look for you to display an aptitude to gain knowledge of our consumer’s footwear needs and to solve problems that are relevant and impactful. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training

  • Preferred degree in Product Development or Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Industrial Design or equivalent experience or training

  • Minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience

  • High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members

  • Knowledge of footwear manufacturing technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials is highly preferred

  • Understanding of product planning, forecasting, and process planning with strong communication skills

  • Someone open to trying new tools and products to elevate our product creation process

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As our Footwear Product Developer II at Nike, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects and will recommend and specify the material, component and construction to meet key features and performance goals. As a Footwear Product Developer II, you will also apply your understanding of sophisticated innovation concepts to the in-line product process and offering. You will apply your understanding of footwear technical knowledge to drive product creation through 3D Prototyping, Bottom Tooling, Upper Patterns, Mold Design, Chemical, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives in an efficient, effective, balanced, and timely way.

  • Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business. 

  • You will utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence. 

  • You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets.  

  • You will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.

  • You will use 3D rendering tools to generate photorealistic replicas of your footwear developments to advance the Digital Expression process.
