The Role

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a Footwear Product Developer II on the Nike By You team, you will also be the key partner to our teams in Asia including our factory partners to ensure we are creating the product that exceeds our consumer expectations. You will need to work within the Nike matrix to ensure our products meets our Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You will also be a key point of contact for our manufacturing partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Product Developer II who will work with cross functional partners to create and drive our product process. You will be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team to help drive product excellence! You will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of our consumer. The candidate needs to be curious, team focused, have a passion for learning, solution orientated, and demonstrate a positive demeanour.

On the Nike By You team you will be serving our consumer that wants to be different and have a choice.  In Nike By You we serve multiple consumers through all of our different fields of play.  Nike By You is a co-creation service that allows customers to design their own shoes by choosing different colors, materials, and personalization’s. This service enables individuals to create unique footwear that reflects their personal style and preference.  We are looking for people to join our team who are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players and that exhibit strong leadership skills.  If that sounds intriguing to you, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • A minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience

  • Experience in Development, Product Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives

  • Strong team first mentality that instils trust to deliver product excellence

  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail

  • Experience in project management

  • Creative problem-solving skills from concepts to application.

  • Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle

  • Demonstrates base level understanding of Consumer Product or Hardgoods

  • The ability to read technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files is a plus

  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines

  • Knowledge of footwear pattern engineering, tooling or manufacturing processes is a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will lead, guide and follow through on making decisions that will lead to timely product confirmation and sample delivery. You will execute product creation according to critical dates and performance/profitability goals. You will work with your multi-functional teammates to ensure manufacturability of product concepts. You will develop and utilize footwear knowledge to drive results and appropriately achieve project designs. You will apply fundamental understanding of multiple sports and standard methodologies to identify product and testing requirements and assure product performance through physical and field-testing (fit). You will recommend and specify material, component and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals. In addition, you will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, can be commercialized, manufactured, while meeting design intent performance, costing and sustainability goals.
