We are a local family business that has operated in Hawai‘i since 1986 and proudly employs over 160 team members. The Art Source, Inc. is the parent company of Pictures Plus, Plus Interiors, and CocoNene — three sister brands committed to local manufacturing, local artistry, and products made right here on O‘ahu.
Our factory in Kapolei creates artwork, furniture, décor, and personalized gifts for our stores across O‘ahu, Maui, and the Big Island. We measure our success by our average hourly wage and the opportunities we create for local people.

About the role
- At The Art Source, Inc. our Product Development team is where new ideas come to life. We foster an open, creative environment where you're encouraged to explore, experiment, and push boundaries. We invest in state-of-the-art machinery to make it happen. As our Product Designer, you'll create the collections from fresh concepts and artwork to finished products in our stores. You'll bring Hawaii's culture and spirit into every design, have room to explore, and grow alongside a supportive team that loves to create.
What you'll do
- Design new collections that celebrate island life and local culture
- See your designs in our stores across the islands
- Bring ideas that matter to a small team where everyone has an impact
- Take ownership of collections and grow with a team that trains, shares knowledge, and supports each other
- Research trends and spot new product opportunities
- Create mockups, samples, and production-ready art
- Create custom designs for business clients
- Learn our machines and materials so your designs are ready for production
- Work hands-on with laser, UV, and sublimation in our on-site factory
- Support projects across CocoNene and Pictures Plus
Qualifications
- 2+ years of graphic design or product design experience
- Advanced Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills
- Strong vector art and typography skills
- A great eye for color, layout, and detail
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects on deadline
- A collaborative spirit and clear communication
- A portfolio showing your creative range (required)
Skills Required
- 2+ years of graphic design or product design experience
- Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills
- Advanced Adobe InDesign skills
- Strong vector art skills
- Strong typography skills
- Strong eye for color, layout, and detail
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple projects on deadline
