About the Role:

We are looking for a Product Design Manager to help lead our group of product designers who focus on the core UX of Fivetran. You will guide multiple reports across squads toward a unified and cohesive set of product solutions. Our ideal candidate should have an empowering mindset of putting their team first, an ability to craft and execute Design strategy, and a strong ability to collaborate across disciplines in a complex and ever-changing space. We value those that hit the ground running, lead by example, and support their fellow designers.

As you talk with our team, your portfolio should contain case studies that demonstrate strong storytelling skills, application of effective design processes, team building capability, and clear results from your previous team’s work.

What You’ll Do

• Managing a crew of rockstar designers while collaborating with other team leaders, Product Managers, and Engineers who are also passionate about user experience.
• Facilitate requirements discussions and reviews with stakeholders to create alignment on design solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve the user experience and champion your ideas.
• Balance long term vision with short term execution, and align the team around north star objectives that help Fivetran be even more successful.
• Partner with our Brand Studio team to ensure the right voice and tone is reflected in our product. 
• Become an expert on the end-to-end customer experience, performing and assessing research with users of the product and internal subject matter experts.
• Mentor Designers across the team to help up-level our entire organization.

Skills We're Looking For

• You effectively partner with your team and others on planning, research, validation, concept design, design systems, usability testing, and other UX practices.
• A strong portfolio featuring examples of your past team’s work, your design process, and the resulting impact of your leadership. 
• Heavy focus on details with an eye for customer orientation and pixel perfection. 
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with a bias toward action – there’s tons of greenfield opportunity here, and you’ll need to lean into the ambiguity and lead projects to completion.
• Ability to craft engaging presentations with engrossing stories that influence your peer stakeholders.
• You are driven by a deep understanding of how products get used, concept validation, contextual inquiry, and usability testing.
• Excitement for the chance to shape the design culture at a growing company and eagerness to inspire people with your unique perspective.

Bonus Skills

• Experience working in big data, AI, or data analytics.
• Experience collaborating and setting strategy with Design Operations and Brand Design teams.
• A desire to have fun while building a great product!
