We are seeking a highly motivated Product Design Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team at ProGlove, a leading provider of wearable technology solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for taking full ownership for mechanical products from ideation to mass production.  

Job Description

Your mission...
As Product Design Engineer, you will closely work with our Hardware Engineering team and you will report directly to one of our Mechanical Engineering Manager. We’re dedicated to find someone who is passionate about creating the next generation of ProGlove devices and interested in joining a fast-growing environment. Your day-to-day will also consist of mainly these topics:

  • Troubleshoot designs by running root cause analysis 
  • Translate product concepts into mechanical specifications, create BOMs, and estimate costs
  • Work closely with design and production departments, drive the mechanical design to ensure manufacturable products, including the design of assembly rigs 
  • Create test plans and define acceptance criteria. Perform component and product-level durability, quality, and manufacturability testing. 

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate for this role, you come with the following skills and competencies:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • 2+ years experience in Mechanical product design, for example in mobile electronics, wearables or smart appliances.
  • Strong skills with CAD packages (preferably SolidWorks) and experience in rapid iteration and prototyping with hands-on workshop experience.
  • Expertise in Statistical Tolerance Analysis, DFMEA, DFM, and Injection Molding.
  • Experience in Machinery design (Production machinery being a plus). For example: Test stands, assembly and production rigs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and engaging work environment.
  • Business fluency in English, German is a plus.
