JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the Product Data Consultant, you will support the Auto and Workers' Compensation lines of business within the Global Product Organization by combining a curiosity for data with practical underwriting insight. It involves analyzing moderately complex organizational data to uncover actionable business trends and opportunities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine underwriting standards, inform pricing strategies, and improve operational processes. You will also contribute to the development of dashboards, interpretation of performance metrics, and execution of strategic initiatives that promote profitable growth. In this role, you may serve as a key contact for product-related inquiries, applying analytical thinking and sound judgment to identify effective solutions.
Although this position may be located throughout the United States, preference is to work in a hybrid capacity from our corporate office in Chicago.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines
  • Builds and enhances dashboards and processes for the purpose of quantifying the performance of the business area and evaluating operational changes. Reports findings and may make recommendations to management.
  • Interprets data and identifies relevant analyses; Monitors trends over time and provides actionable insights that support the active management of the business area and promotes profitable growth.
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage new Technology solutions in support of analytics, reporting and process improvement objectives.
  • Acts as first point of contact on product organization inquiries including manuscript wording, endorsements, guidelines or system related; determines possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
  • May support projects from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment are maintained; contribute to process improvements and project documentation.
  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction; provides informal guidance to new team members.
  • May actively partner with other analytical teams across the organization and/or participate in special projects.
  • Responds to and fulfills adhoc data requests.
  • May research industry best practices in underwriting product and data analytics.

May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
Typically, Manager or above.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Solid knowledge of core functions of an insurance company, general insurance, including underwriting, and statistical, financial, and economic concepts, which may include a specialty area of the business.
2. Solid knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau and other business-related software.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with to effectively resolve moderately complex situations and issues. Demonstrates attention to detail.
4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
5. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team, manage time and resources to accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Solid project management skills and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage work deliverables/projects effectively.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in business, Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or related field.
2. Typically, a minimum of four years of related work experience.

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
