Join the TMX Alpha US team as a Product and Analytics Analyst,, where you will occupy a pivotal, strategic seat at the intersection of data science and market evolution. In this role, you won’t just be crunching numbers; you will be a key architect in shaping the future direction of the AlphaX US trading venue.
Working directly with the Analytics Team, the Head of Sales, and the broader AlphaX US team, you will bridge the gap between complex datasets and actionable recommendations on ways to trade in our venue to achieve better execution quality. This is a high-impact role designed for a strategic thinker who is eager to master US equity market structure and provide execution insights to our participants.Key Accountabilities

Strategic Analytics & Modeling

• Framework Design: Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of robust analytical models to extract meaningful insights from large financial datasets.

• Metric Reporting: Calculate and report on explainable venue metrics, ensuring internal and external stakeholders understand the "why" behind the data.

• Performance Monitoring: Track existing KPIs and venue features to identify performance gaps and opportunities for technical or logic-based improvements.

Client Engagement & Sales Support

• Execution Quality: Collaborate with the Sales team to provide participants with feedback and data-driven recommendations on how to optimize their execution quality within our venue.

• Content Creation: Help prepare sophisticated reports, dashboards, and presentation materials that translate complex data into a clear narrative for trading participants.

• Client Readiness: Support the team in preparing for high-level client engagements regarding market structure and venue-specific trading dynamics.

Market Intelligence & Collaboration

• Market Structure:  Actively develop an understanding of US equity trading and market structure, assisting senior members in analyzing regulatory changes and their implications

• Cross-Functional Synergy: Work across product, sales, and technology teams to ensure our data strategy aligns with broader TMX organizational goals.

Must-Haves: Skills & Experience

• Experience: 1–2 years in a relevant analytics role with a track record of driving strategic impact (FinTech or Capital Markets experience is a plus).

• Technical Proficiency:  Experience using SQL to query large databases is an asset 

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and data visualization (Superset, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) .

• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate "data-speak" into clear, strategic recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strategic Mindset: You are a creative thinker who looks beyond the spreadsheet to see the "big picture" of execution and business growth.

• Analytical Rigor: Superior qualitative and quantitative skills with a relentless eye for detail and execution.

This role is hybrid (3 days in the office/week) - based in New York City, NY.

Salary Range: $80,000/year -$110,000/year USD
