Challenges You Will Solve


The Procurement Specialist will be a key member of the Accounting team and will work with Red Canary teams throughout the company, as well as with outside vendors, to ensure that purchase orders and corresponding invoices are accurate and complete. The role will be the primary responsible party for ensuring purchase requests flow smoothly through our Procure-to-Pay system (“P2P”), including communicating to appropriate parties for any issues, documentation or approvals needed. The Procurement Specialist will also assist in the procurement process as it relates to any third party orders that may be required in order to provide the services invoiced to our customers. Additionally the role includes uploading vendor invoice details into our procurement system, matching invoices to purchase orders, ensuring account coding of expenses is accurate and reviewing invoices prior to payment. Other items include accurately maintaining vendor records, reconciling vendor statements and various month end tasks. The ideal candidate will collaborate well with others, have exceptional attention to detail, experience with vendor interaction, and emanate a service focused mindset. The position will be mentored by the Senior Staff Accountant and will report directly to the Manager, Accounting.

What You'll Do

  • Work with internal team members on purchase request flow and approvals, in a timely manner
  • Communicate any issues or concerns with the purchase request or purchase order to the appropriate party
  • Upload invoices and match to Purchase Orders within our P2P system
  • Monitor the accounts payable in-box on a daily basis and act or respond accordingly
  • Ensure our vendor records are accurate, up to date, and contain the required information
  • Assist in responding to email in the general accounting inbox
  • Identify problems in the procurement flow or system and work with stakeholders to correct
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Help provide KPIs and other reporting as needed
  • Assist with the month-end accounting close
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • At least 1-3 years of experience with procurement and accounts payable systems
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to handle and resolve vendor and in-company inquiries and issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with ZIP, Sage Intacct and Google programs is a plus

Compensation Range: $62,500 - $82,800 + bonus and equity
