Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Specialist II, Procurement to join our procurement team. This role is essential for managing and optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices. The Specialist II, Procurement will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operational needs and drive cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet company requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement data to drive decision-making and improve sourcing strategies.
Purchase Orders: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including the preparation and issuance of purchase orders, tracking order status, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Cost Management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions. Conduct cost analyses and implement cost control measures to optimize procurement expenditures.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that procured materials and services meet quality standards and specifications. Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies with suppliers promptly.
Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with inventory and supply chain teams to align procurement activities with inventory needs and production schedules. Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and manage supplier lead times.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and industry standards. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in procurement practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CPSM) are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong understanding of sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Skills: Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate supplier performance and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing procurement processes and documentation.
Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving abilities, with the capability to address and resolve procurement-related issues efficiently.
