As a Purchaser/Procurement Coordinator, you will support the Fleet & Facilities Team by developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies across the Company and its affiliated entities. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating agreements, ordering, and expediting essential materials, equipment, components, and services required to support company operations.

Working closely with the Fleet & Facilities Team, Operations, Finance, and external suppliers, you will help ensure teams have the necessary tools, materials, and resources to achieve their objectives while maintaining competitive pricing, quality standards, and service requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing
  • Procure and expedite materials, equipment, and services required for repair, maintenance, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for equipment and material deliveries with the Fleet & Facilities Team.
  • Lead sourcing projects and develop strategic sourcing strategies to support business requirements.
  • Issue RFIs and RFQs and negotiate contracts to achieve competitive pricing and optimal total cost of ownership.
  • Support transactional purchasing activities while maintaining accurate ERP data.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to establish contracts, pricing, and terms with key suppliers.
Supplier & Vendor Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment with supplier capacity and establish senior-level supplier relationships.
  • Conduct regular supplier meetings to drive improvements in service, quality, pricing, and lead times.
  • Monitor vendor performance against established expectations and requirements.
  • Create and maintain cross-functional KPIs and scorecards to track budget, contracted spend, and vendor service metrics.
Inventory & Supply Management
  • Work with corporate maintenance teams to develop replenishment strategies, including minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Support inventory management strategies for critical equipment and regular maintenance requirements.
  • Develop risk management strategies to address potential supply shortages, delays, or other disruptions.
  • Monitor supply requirements to help ensure materials, equipment, and components are available when needed.
Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company purchasing policies, legal requirements, financial controls, quality standards, and relevant SOPs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, including automation and the elimination of redundancies.
  • Stay current with procurement best practices and industry trends.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain activities.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned to support business unit and organizational objectives.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, maintenance, contract management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Purchasing or Supply Chain certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience with inventory control procedures and best practices is considered an asset.
  • Construction industry experience is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier data.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing information, supplier performance, budgets, and costs.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, and contract negotiation processes.

  • Manual dexterity required for the use of desktop computers and peripherals.
