Boeing Defence United Kingdom LimitedThis post is for a Procurement Agent Intern (Vertical Lift) to work within the Supply Chain function in Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) in Gosport, Yeovil or Bristol. BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 2,000 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including Through Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services and E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISR Services.
As a member of the Supplier Management & Procurement team, the Procurement Agent (Buyer) responsibilities include:
- Negotiating contracts for products, services and technologies.
- Engaging stakeholders to ensure that programme, customer, product and in-service strategies are integrated into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies.
- Negotiating pricing and contract terms and conditions.
- Preparing and executing negotiated contractual documents and binding agreements. Optimising execution of the supply chain balancing inventory, supply orders and schedule demand.
- Managing supplier/subcontractor performance and relationship to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and in-service performance.
- Mitigating risks and issues.
- Initiating supplier improvement activities and providing results for integration into contracting strategies.
- Assisting with continuous review and analysis of demand and supply.
- Gathering data for supplier performance evaluation and improvement opportunities.
- Support to proposals for new business.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- IT proficient (particularly Excel, PowerPoint).
- Studying towards a business degree, with interest or focus on supply chain.
