About the Team:

The Master Data Management team is responsible for establishing trusted, governed, and business-ready MDM data assets across the organization. Our mission is to enable high-quality, consistent, and accessible data that powers operational excellence, analytics, and digital transformation using Master Data Domains.

Implement and monitor data quality dimensions including completeness, validity, uniqueness, consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.

Conduct ongoing assessments and reviews of critical enterprise data assets.

Impact

The Product Owner for Master Data Management is responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, and delivery of FCB's Unified Master Data Management (UMDM) platform.

The role partners closely with UMDM Business Owners, Data Governance, Architecture, Compliance, Operations, and Agile delivery teams to establish a unified and trusted source of MDM Customer, Relationship, and Reference Data across the enterprise.

The Product Owner is accountable for prioritizing the MDM backlog, defining business requirements, and ensuring the delivery of data capabilities that support regulatory compliance, customer onboarding, operational efficiency, reporting, analytics, and downstream consumers and  applications in Batch and Realtime.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Own the UMDM product roadmap and align delivery objectives with FCB's data strategy.
  • Define and prioritize capabilities supporting:
    • Customer and Party Master Data
    • Relationship Management
    • Reference Data Management
    • Data Quality and Data Governance
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process simplification and data standardization.
  • Ensure MDM capabilities support strategic business initiatives and regulatory requirements.

Backlog Management

  • Own and prioritize the MDM product backlog.
  • Develop Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Balance competing priorities across business units and technology teams.
  • Ensure stories are sufficiently refined and ready for sprint execution.
  • Drive backlog grooming and prioritization sessions.

UMDM Platform Ownership

  • Define requirements for:
    • Golden Record Creation
    • Match and Merge Rules
    • Survivorship Rules
    • Hierarchy Management
    • Party Models
    • External Identifier Management
    • Address Management
    • Data Stewardship Workflows
    • UI for Users C360
    • Mandatory columns and Integration requirements for batch/real-time
  • Partner with architects to evolve the enterprise customer data model.
  • Ensure alignment between source systems, UMDM, and downstream consumers.

Data Quality and Governance

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Data Governance teams.
  • Define business data quality rules and data standards.
  • Oversee implementation of MDM / DQ services including CDQ, Address Validation, and external data providers like D&B.
  • Partner with Collibra and Data Governance teams to ensure data lineage, metadata management, and policy compliance.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to data quality, completeness, accuracy, and duplicate reduction.

 Leadership/Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate workshops or participate in requirements gathering with Product Owners, Business Users, Data Stewards, and Technology teams as required.
  • Present updates, risks, and metrics to leadership.
  • Manage delivery expectations and drive decision-making.

Agile Delivery Leadership

  • Participate in:
    • Sprint Planning
    • Backlog Refinement
    • Sprint Reviews
    • Retrospectives
  • Provide clarifications to development and testing teams.
  • Review completed stories and approve business acceptance.
  • Ensure business value is delivered for Sprints/ Program.

Testing and Release Management

  • Define UAT scope and acceptance criteria.
  • Support SIT, Regression Testing, and Production Validation activities.
  • Validate parity testing between source systems and UMDM.
  • Ensure releases meet business requirements.
  • Sign off on production deployments and post-release validation.

Required Experience

Professional Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Management or Enterprise Data Programs.
  • 5+ years in Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, Product Manager, or MDM leadership roles.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale Customer or Party Master Data Management solutions.
  • Experience working within Financial Services, Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, or Risk Management environments.
  • Experience managing distributed and offshore delivery teams.
